You can't fully eliminate fungus but you can limit the amount on your fingers by washing your hands often and get plenty of sunlight. Fungus and bacteria thrive in moist/wet, dark and cool conditions. Make sure you wash with a anti bacterial soap sometimes and fully dry your hands. If the fungus is under the fingernail you should see a doctor so they can prescribe a antibiotic. Most likely what you are describing as fungus is most likely a bacterial infection. I would strongly suggest you see your regular doctor as they can go into greater detail and take a sample so you can make a informed decision.

Keys
Wash regularly
Dry completely
Sun Exposure (need it)
Antibiotic (possible)
basic cleanliness

Get some Tea tree oil from Wal Mart. It kills fungus. It is also poison so don't put your hands in your mouth after you put it on. My husband has a bad toe nail that he hurt a year or so ago. The nail turned a yellow or green and is full of fungus. I took him to the doctor and they said his nail would have to come off, but they didn't want to mess with it that day. I've been putting the Tea Tree Oil on it for about two weeks now and the sorness has gone away, and he was able to cut some of the nail off himself. The stuff really works.

It the fungal infection is on the skin surface and not under the nails, you might want to try an OTC antifungal, like Tinactin (for example). Use the cream version and see how it works. It may take a while as fungus is tenacious.

Do you mean fungus affecting the nails? Use oral griseofulvin or terbenafine for several weeks.
