Some sites online that say that homosexuality is NOT accepted?

For example, many Christians don't know that:

- Jesus says nothing about same-sex behavior.
- The Jewish prophets are silent about homosexuality.
- Only six or seven of the Bible's one million verses refer to same-sex behavior in any way -- and none of these verses refer to homosexual orientation as it's understood today.

Hello!

That's a good question. It seems that Jesus didn't openly talked about homosexuality, but He does in the Scriptures (let's remember that the Bible talks about Christ; it is Jesus' Word for us). You were given some good answers above. Jesus doesn't approve homosexuality, because it's a sin ultimately against your own body, as well as against your neighbor. However, do not get me wrong. If you're homosexual, it doesn't mean you're lost already. Jesus wants to help you! Jesus hates sin but loves infinitely the siner. Paraphrazing Kim Allan Johnson, "God hates sin just as the mother hates the cocaine that consumes her son's life". Does that mean a mother doesn't love her child? Of course not! The same way God hates the sin that destructs you, but He loves you desperately! Give up your life to Him. He'll do for you what you can't do for yourself. Please, do not wait to change by yourself because you won't succeed. In order to change, you need the power that comes from above. Go to Jesus just like you are. Jesus is the only One who can give you victory over sin if you're just willing to let Him do it. He's changed so many people already: murders, homosexuals, rapers, thiefs, adulterers, alcoholics, drug doers, many of them have been changed by Christ's wonderful power. He can do the same miracle in you if you let Him!

True some in the Old Testament and some in the New Testament. Since God doesn't change, then the same feelings and attitude are the same today. Any mention of a homosexual was always of a vehement nature. No reason for that to be different today.

It was always of a negative mention. It said in the Bible that it is an abhorent evil. Type in homosexuals and the Bible and there should be plenty of verses there.

Gee, the Bible doesn't talk about cigarette smoking, HPV, condoms, dropping acid, smoking mushrooms, break dancing, strip teasing, solitaire, poker, PC's, Blackberry's, NASDAQ, NYSE, Ford Motor Company, cloning, going to the moon, building space stations, standing in lines, sleeping out doors to buy a video game, eating tofu, Chi, karma,

Shall I go on.......

The principle is there and it is very clear. God (Let's start if you accept the fact that God is the Creator) He made Adam and Eve not Eve and Madam. He did that for a reason.

Sexuality is designed for procreation (which two of the same sex CAN'T do) and mutual satisfaction between a husband and a wife in the confines of a marital relationship, which was started by God as well (btw).

Jesus hated all sin. Homosexuality is a sin. The complete Bible is God's commands. Not just what Jesus said and did not say. He did address it in His predictions of what will come towards the end of the world. The Jewish prophets are not God. Even if only one book of the Bible say that it is a sin it is. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. No matter how we try to sugar coat what we want to get away with, God and His rules are still the same. May God Bless

What does the Bible say?

The Bible, as God's word, reveals God's moral character and it shapes the morality of the Christian. There have been those who have used the Bible to support homosexuality, taken verses out of context and read into them interpretations that are not there. Quite simply, the Bible condemns homosexuality as a sin. Let's look at what it says.

Lev. 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination."

Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them."

1 Cor. 6:9-10,

"Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals
10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

Rom. 1:26-28,

"For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,
27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper."

With such clear statements against homosexuality, it is difficult to see how different groups can say the Bible supports homosexuality. But they try by redefining love, marriage, sex, homosexuality, etc. in order to accomplish their goal. But the truth is that God created man and woman, not man and man, or woman and woman.

Nevertheless, the Bible is a powerful book, and because it is the homosexuals often try and make the Bible agree with its agenda. But it doesn't work. The Bible does not support homosexuality as we have seen from the scriptures above.

Unlike other sins, this sexual sin has a judgment administered by God Himself: He gives them over to their passions (Rom. 1:26-28).

This means that their hearts are allowed to be hardened by their sins. As a result, they can no longer see the error of what they are doing. Without an awareness of their sinfulness, there will be no repentance. Without repentance, there will be no forgiveness. Without forgiveness, there is no salvation.

Finally, with their hardened hearts, they seek to promote their lifestyle in society. This is become more real since homosexuals are gaining strength and forcing those with opposing views into confinement and penalty. So much for fairness. It is okay to demand it for themselves, but they balk at allowing it for those who disagree.

It is also important to realize that any sexual gradification obtained apart from ones own husband or wife is sin. Hetrosexul sin is still sin. ALL sin cost more then we can afford and it always cost others then the one doing it.

I think God understands it pretty well, He says it's an abomination.
ALL of the verses that refer to it say that it is the worst form of sin. What more is there to say? How many times do you need to hear it? Man shall not lie with a man as with a woman PERIOD.

Christians believe that Jesus was God in the flesh. Jesus says not to sin. Same thing right? don't kill, don't steal, don't lie, don't have same sex partners (even if that's what you want)
GOD already laid down the law. Does he need to revise it for the year 2007?
Same Sex is Wrong! An abomination in the eyes of God. And always will be, even if we make it to the year 3007. Sorry

Please, for your own sake, do not try to seek justification for your sin from the Bible. You will never find it there. The fact is, it was mentioned as an abomination in the old testament, and reiterated again in the new testament. It's also the only sexual sin out of them all; adultery, fornication, rape, incest, bestiality, and pedophilia, where those guilty of it try to avoid ALL responsibility for their actions by saying they were born this way. It is a CHOSEN Behaviour, just like adultery is!

Jesus may not directly address homosexuality but there are verses on it in the Old and New Testaments and that is good enough for me.
