You first need to ask yourself if you want him back. If you don't then just tell him you don't want him back, don't be mean about it though unless your break up was a bad one.
If you in fact want him back, test him. Drop hints that you can live without him but not that you're better off without him. If you let him know that you CAN NOT live without him, it will only boost his ego to the point that it lowers your self esteem. You can also try dating again. Starting over is a great way to get the spark back in a relationship.
If you do decide to take him back though, treat it like a new relationship. Don't bring old **** back up. If there are things from the old relationship that you need to talk out then do so before you get back together with him. If he gets impatient, he doesn't deserve you, he's just doing it because he doesn't want to be alone.
Good luck and remember to do what makes you happy. It's not the other way around.

If you want to get back with him make the guy sweat it out and ask him again why he broke it off with you and why would things be different this time around.
Tell him to write 15 things he loves about you and a essay on why you should take him back. If he loves you and wants to be with you he will have no problem completing the above task.
Most cases when a guy breaks it off there is a reason and if he comes back he might be lonely, horny or the other girl dumped him... so becareful

well, this might sound a little stupid but trust me..it works so well. ive totlly been on thi same boat before..and i know wut do do to make evn more sorry than he is now and not to ever do it again and to love u more than ever. well, he says he regrets it and that hes srry, so u have kinda play"hard to get" say, "u know how much u hurt me..wen u did that..no, im guessing u dont know exactly how much bc u r so selfish and only thot of ur fealings..and now ur srry?!!?u know hiow much i cried b/c of u, and all u can say is srry!!" then be lik "idk..if i could ever love u any more, even tho i did so much before.." make sur eto rememind him how much u loved him, so he realizez even more of wut an idiot he was. make him try so hard to get u bak, and onlty then ull know that he truelly is srry!! hope this kinda helped!! good luck!!!

can we get a more detail description on why you guys broke up? if it was for a stupid reason or whatever think about it over. do you love him that much? and if you do decide that you want to get back with him..make sure he wont do it again. usually ppl sure compromise or agree to changes before getting back together so theres no high chance of getting hurt again.

if he regrets braking up with you then why did he do it in the first place??? u know what i mean??? leave him and find a better man to treat you right and not "mistakenly" break up with you. trust me it might be hard to find a "good" man but there are some out there.

Don't take him back. If you take him back, it's showing him you don't put much value on yourself, and that he can walk on you in the future, and get away with it.
You can always find another man. The question is, can he find another woman who's going to put up with being walked on? Probably...but, please don't let that woman be you.
Girlfriend, tell him to talk to the hand, because the face don't give a damn...and go find another who does!

talk to your boyfriend and then talk to his best friend and see what the deal really is. Sounds like he tried to get with someone else and struck out. Now he's crawling back to you cuz he thinks you'll take him back. If you have any doubts, wait to take him back and see what he does. Most importantly...keep lines of communication open with him.
