HOW DO WE STOP "in your face violence and sex" on TV?
I see TV programs getting wilder and more outrageous ever week. Shock quality gets greater and greater each month and vilence has become acceptable behavour to our young adults and to young kids who see vilence as just a way of life and they are not affected by it at all. How will they act out when they are in their teens?
And Sex, it is no longer private. Sex is no longer a personal thing. TV has destroyed the mistique of sex and no longer will young people be allowed to grow up without it in their faces. I watched The Opra Show last year and she detailed the widespread US School Bus Sex activity which is very common in the US. Boys of 10 and up being "serviced" by girls of the same age and younger. That story made me sick and ashamed than it is not even being addressed and stopped! Little girls growing up believing they have to "service " boys to be accepted - eekk!

I am with you and I really detest the way this is going with the media but the alternative is censorship and I am not willing to go there.

TV isnt the reason 10 year old boys are serviced by 10 year old girls.. its a lack of parenting.. parents often are NOT HOME when their kids are.. or really dont care what there kids are doing even if they are home (eg using the internet as a babysitter)

The American public FREAKED OUT when Janet Jackson showed a boob - big deal.. its a natural thing.. YET EVERY NIGHT ON CSI SOMEBODY IS BRUTALLY MURDERED IN GRAPHIC DETAIL AND NOBODY CARES!!!!!!!!!!

90 % of it is poor parenting.. honest - too many parents more worried about take home pay than anything else... most shouldnt even have kids....they worry more about having a new car, a cell phone, 600 channels on the TV and forget that 13 (or whatever) years ago they gave birth to a LIFE

i think my ordinary answer is that it starts in the abode. Watch what your babies watch on television - hell they should not be observing that lots television besides. circulate with them to video clips, verify their video games, etc. All specific to boost protest from others, yet see how lots of people who ***** approximately observing your babies surely have young ones. I even have faith in letter writing as a team if plausible to networks and advertisers. My corporation as quickly as had somebody ***** that an advert (by making use of a corporation we had an adventure sales area at, no longer our corporation) had somebody in a without delay-jacket and that became offensive by using fact it made relaxing of the mentally ill. It became a Halloween advert! IMHO it became a stupid criticism (yet I even have on no account been in a without delay-jacket so i need to be incorrect), however the element is that anybody in top administration at 10 companies study that letter and that i'm specific some advert company will look at that next 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. No genuine action became taken, yet they understand a criticism became obtainable. suitable now as long because plainly like no person cares they are going to attempt and get away with in spite of they are in a position to whilst they are in a position to.

You could put a parental block on a certian channel or programs you don't want your children to watch. If you have cable and thats not an option, tell them that you don't want that channel. If they watch programs with sex or violence in it, they may have sex or become violent when they are teenagers.
