Have you made the pact with someone the at X age if were not married we should marry each other. Who is this person a close friend or ex-lover? When did you make this deal? Has anyone followed through?

It is a movie I find myself promising to keep in "touch" more and more so maybe its the next step. Becuase I have not meant anyone with marriage potential.

I had this arrangement with my best friend. We were both having problems in the relationship game, and we told each other that if we were not married by the age of 35 we would marry each other.
We were in college at Michigan University at the time. My best friend currently resides in Atlanta, GA. He moved there over 7 years ago, and upon arriving there met this female that he liked, and married. Not even 2 years after the marriage they were divorced, and my best friend called me and stated that he looked like we would be getting married this year.
I have been in a serious relationship for the past four years, and my best friend is very serious about this marriage issue. He will be 35 this March, and I am already 35.
I had to become engaged to get him off of my back. I think to make this type of arrangement is fun; at the time. However once you have to make good on the arrangements; things can get real sticky, and believe me; I have lost my friend because of this.
I would never recommend this arrangement; Except for fun time only. Not to be taken literally.

My friend in high school was named Anthony and we made a pact when I was in the 10th grade and him in the 9th that if we were both single by the time he turned 40 then we would get married. We have NEVER be intimate, but he did take me to my senior prom. We had tried to get together at least 4 times out of high school. But he was either dating someone or vice versa. He is my childrens godfather. We made this deal on the day i graduated from high school which was 6-3-92. Well we both went into the military and I got married and divorced and now I am married again and I have no idea where he is now. the last time we had talked was in 2004 and he called to tell me he knew I was remarried. So neither one of us has followed through. I am 32 now and he would be 31. Who knows what the future may bring. I am deeply in love with my husband and I would never leave him for anyone.

When I was 18 I made a pact with my best friend at the time that if we were both unmarried at age 99 we would marry each other.
He's gay and I'm asexual.
Marriage made to last obviously; 99 sounded like an age that was far enough away that it'd never happen and if it ever did at least one of us would die straight after ;)
