i don't think it would matter as long as you are loved. i know many people born to a normal family who were treated like crap. so as long as you have a role model and someone to love and care for you. your better off than a lot of people out there.

Well, I would have to say it does not matter as long as the child is loved. I think that 2 moms or 2 dads are going to be better parents because they always have to be "on guard" due to the nonacceptance of others. They also appreciate their children a lot more because it is much harder for them to have a family. I also do not think it is bad to be conceived through artificial insemination, at least the child was not a case of oops the condom broke, now what am I going to do! Being a child of a single mom might be a little tougher than if the child had two parents, (straight or gay) but I am sure everything would turn out just fine.

For me, its better to be a child of a gay couple because you know that you were adopted because they love each other, the only problem is that they cannot make their own child. But for surely, they can love you as much as their own child or more than that because they never afraid of what might people might tell them. See how brave your parents are.

For surely, this couple last for years and they have built a nice relationaship before the adopted a child. So family problem can also come like a regular family.

I would say artifically inseminated. Because the child does not have to carry the burden of defending her parents life style in school where children can be so cruel. And she may never know that she was a product of artifical insemination. There are many more single parents putting kids through school and these children are not being attacked because the parent does not have a partner. You can not protect the child from the abuse that other children are going to subject that child to so it is not fair to the child.

Being a child of a single mom. You are instilling the wrong values in a child. A child would get very confused by having 2 men or 2 women as parents. Would one be mom and the other one dad?

Single Mom...she must have enough money to look after a kid since she paid for the insemination. I'd rather have a mom than 2 dads but you didn't actually say the gay couple was 2 men but I'm just assuming. I just think a mom is more nurturing than a guy.

The child of the gay couple. There are two parental figures and that will probably bring more stability to a child then a single parent.

I'd guess the child of a gay couple.

Why? Because there's a benefit from growing up and watching two people cooperate and compromise. It's great if a kid can see his or her parents work together as a team and work things out in a civil and intelligent manner.

A woman who opts to be artificially inseminated is more likely to have issues. Is she a man-hater? Is she afraid of commitment? Is she so neurotic that no sane man wants her?

Plus, with two parents, there are two people to share the responsibility of meeting the child's many needs. So Dad #1 is having a bad day? OK, there's Dad #2 to make it all better and explain things in a way can understand. (e.g. "Daddy's sad right now, let's go play outside so he can have some quiet time.) So Mom's got a lousy job that has no benefits? Mom #2 has a good job and, yes, insurance benefits for the family.

A gay couple can show the child what a committed relationship is and how it works. Single Mom can't.

Being the child of a loving, supportive parent regardless of sexual orientation or martial status. Is it better to be the child of a gay couple who loves their child unconditionally, or the child of neglectful, abusive heterosexual parents?

I dont think it matters as long as the child is loved and the parent or parents are able to give the child what it needs to be safe and healthy.
