Their really isn't anything to stop your windshield from freezing over night (to the best of my knowledge) However they do make a windshield washer fluid that has a de-icer added to it. Ask for it at your local Auto parts store It is usually an orangish color

Try Magic Ice Stop, made by Basic Solutions, UK, available in a 500ml spray bottle. It sprays on as a thick transparent solution, and is effective to minus 40F. The only glitch is that you have to rinse it off with your washer fluid before driving, since it it stays on as a slimy, thick layer.

To prevent side windows freezing to the window channels, use a high quality (less carrier mineral oils) silicone lube spray in the window channels when the window is down. Lubricates and prevents windows freezing shut. Good also on the black rubber beading (seal) around doors and the trunk. But never use in the engine compartment as there is a chance that it may be drawn into the combustion chambers and may kill or damage your catalytic converter. Good luck!

You can put cardboard over the windshield and use the wipers to hold it in place. You can also use a large towel for the windshield, or a long blanket across the windshield and side windows using the doors and wipers to hold it in place. If you don't have a blanket long enough, you could measure out how long it would need to be and get some thick fabric cut to length to cover it.

In my case i use an engine starter of my car so i can turn it on 10 minutes before to go and whew it would be clear and warm inside too ;). On summer, u can use it to cool ur car too. There are kind of engine starters depending on what type u like. The remote control have different distance limit where it can reach. U may choose 100meters away (the lowest maybe). Mine can reach 300meters on clear area, just pulling the antenna of the remote control. This is better also when u park ur car a little bit away from the office, or parking ur car on the rooftop of the shopping mall, etc.Just few hundred of dollars will do.

Cut a piece of card board to fit your windshield and place it against the glass with the wipers holding it down. To get your wipers in the upright position turn off the key while they are in motion. You can do the same with back just find something that wont scratch your car to hold it down. or open your car doors and use a big blanket then shut the doors to hold it in place.

I have used cardboard and at times I have used a section of carpet.
If you have somewhere to throw the cardboard when you take it off the windshield, You can re-use one piece several times.

If you are asking about the rest of your glass, try de-icer or just warming your car up for 10 minutes before you travel.

Cover with a tarp or heavy plastic. I live in Wisconsin and I do this to keep them free of ice and snow. It works
