I am 15 and a boy. I am a little old for this, but I do it. I wear Goodnites to bed. I wet the bed about once a week, and my parents do not know that I am wearing a diaper to protect my bed. I have thought about my parents finding me wearing a goodnite on me when I wake up, but they never see me. Also, I only have girls goodnites. My cousin used to wet the bed and we had 2 packages in my bathroom. I am on a limited supply and only wearing a new goodnite after I wet in it. Also, I just started this coule of months ago. Sould I wait and let my parents find my girls goodnites or tell them I am wetting the bed and have solved the problem by wearing my cousin's girl goodnites? Also, it does not run in my family at all. And, it is totally not my personallity to tell my parents I WET THE BED! They will laugh, I know they will because I am not that type of person. WHat shoiuld I do??? PLEASE help! I only have 5 diapers left.

My cousin was 4 when she wet, and she does noy do it anymore. I just got to the doctor the other day for a check-up adn asked him if he could run a few tests. My mom wasnt there so she doesn't know still. I have no problems with my bladder and it is funcitoning normally. So does anybody think I should let my mom find out one morning, or just tell her?

First of all -- I know you feel like you're "too old" for this, but the fact is, it happens to a lot more people your age than you would think! In most cases the bladder will function normally according to tests, but just "acts" small for your age during the night, for reasons that aren't very well understood. It's more likely to happen if you had a bedwetting problem before when you were younger (after the age of 5 or so), or if you're under a lot of stress or something really traumatic has happened to you. It could also simply be a function of your body growing really rapidly at your age and your bladder not growing quickly enough to keep up. Whatever is going on, please realize that what you have is a medical condition and is NOT YOUR FAULT. Hopefully your parents will understand that too, if and when they find out!
Telling your parents about it is something you'll ultimately have to decide for yourself -- but ask yourself, what are you going to do when the Goodnites run out? Is there a way you can get to a store and buy more for yourself without your parents knowing? (And if so, will you be able to go through with buying them without being too embarrassed, and are you comfortable with the idea of spending your own money on those for as long as it takes until your problem goes away?) Unless you can answer YES to all of the above, then in all likelihood, your parents ARE eventually going to find out anyway -- so you might as well work up the courage, bite the bullet, and get it over with. It will probably go down better if they hear it in your own words, and you explain to them that you have a medical condition (and have even been to the doctor and everything!) and it's something you can't help right now, than if they happen to "discover" it in some other way. If they have trouble realizing that it isn't your fault and not something you do on purpose, try showing them a website like this one: http://www.kidney.org/patients/bw/index.cfm -- it has several helpful medically-based articles on why bedwetting happens in teens (and even young adults!) and what can be done about it.
Good luck to you. I also went through this on and off throughout my teen years. It's not fun, but hang in there and you will get through it!

I really do not think that you have a problem - I think you just like to wear diapers and wet them. If you tell your parents about your situation they will want you to go see a doctor, that would be a waste of their money. I would tell your mother what the problem is and ask her to help you get the needed diapers. Has anyone changed your diaper yet? Have you wondered what it would feel like to have someone change your diaper in the morning. Would you like to wear diapers all day long and have a nice lady change your diapers when they are wet. Would you like to be treated like a baby and have a lady powder and clean you up and then put that nice soft and cuddle diaper on your body.
My friend I believe you are an diaper lover and probably will not stop wearing them for a while.
Tell your mom and see what her reaction is to this situation -
It may make a big difference in your life.
Hope everything workes out for you and your fetish - maybe you
can find a girl who will change you and not tell all your Friends.

I would tell at least one of your parents asap so you don't have to worry about it anymore. You probably do need to see a doctor to rule out you don't have a medical condition. I would probably tell whichever parent, your mom or dad, you think will be the most understanding, or you think will be the easier to tell, or you are closer to at this time.
I also think you may be wrong about this not running in your family at all. You said a cousin used to wet the bed, so it is definitely possible one of your parents used to, and either doesn't remember it if they were young at the time or they just don't talk about it (may not be something they are particularly proud of or whatever). I know my husband wet the bed when he was a boy, and my dd also did, and he was really understanding about it, and would share stories about when he was a child bed-wetter when she would be upset about herself. He's not normally Joe Sensitive but I thought that was pretty sweet of him, so hopefully your parents will surprise you too. I would tell them soon, as I'm pretty sure they will find out anyway. Good luck!

I'd imagine it's pretty common, seeing as they make pull-ups for kids her age. I used to nanny for a 10 year old who wore pull-ups to bed. I'm not sure what could cause a child that old to wet the bed, perhaps she is just a deep sleeper, or is afraid to wander to the bathroom by herself at night. I'd raise your concerns with her pediatrician, he might have some helpful tips. EDIT - I didn't realize your child was a boy, I apologize for saying 'she', lol

Do not feel alone, I personally was the same way till around 15 or 16 too. after all the personal attacks by family members and friends that found out (Being lazy etc etc) I found out it is a medical problem. There are in fact drugs you can take for your small bladder to help control it. Consult a doctor for more information.

Hey, just out with it...(no pun intended), there is nothing wrong with you, relax. I am almost 50 and still it happens to me sometimes, the problem is I sleep too deeply, that's all. I am not ashamed of it, there are things I am ashamed of but this is not one of them....
Sleep habits are different for everyone, some drool, some snore, some pee...no biggy. I have been to shrinks, docs and even homeopaths...it just happens sometimes...relax. When you tell them my take is they are not going to hang a wet sheet out your window for all the neighborhood to see, they should be hellpful..
And since you asked are you sure you are wetting the bed and it is not just a wet dream?...15 yr old boys have those too...

Older children wet the bed because of something that is going on in your life. maybe you are stressed out at school, or stuff is happening at home to make you anxious. Check to see what is going on with you and then try to eliminate the cause.
I dont see why your parents would laugh...just tell them and tell them that you need help getting over the problem.
Good luck.

I would wake up tomorrow and say.
Mom or Dad....
I'm having urinary tract problems. Can I go see the doctor. I am having problems "staying dry" at night.
You should know that your not alone and that there is help medically. If you have loving parents, they would be speedy in trying to help you. Get to a doctor honey. He/she can help you with this. It is probably medical. Don't worry in the meantime. Just know it is nothing to be ashamed of and there is help out there for you.
God bless sweety

You need to tell your parents because it may be a medical problem that needs to be treated. I am sure they will listen to your concern about this and make sure you are checked by a doctor for a medical reason for this.

ummm if u'r brave enough to tell us this then i think it'll be fine with your parents. there job is to solve your problems and help you out, not laugh at you no matter however your personality is. you should just have them sit down and tell them. plus i'm pretty sure there are things to help you stop wetting the bed.
