Just curious to how guys think when they look at a girl, do they catorize them into groups of what the potential would be or is it just animalistic?

Few men under the age of 27 are really looking for the one (hmm, i'm still not really searching).
However, categorization does occur. Few men will marry a woman that they sleep with on the first date (how could he trust her in the future?). These women are fun to fool around with, possibly date, but not marry.
A woman that is high-maintenance (takes 2 hours to get ready, is always concerned about money, has expensive tastes, etc.) is potentially girlfriend material, but only a stupid or desperate man would marry such a woman.
Marriage material is a woman that is easy to get along with, compassionate, loving, a 'lady' in public, great in bed and, most importantly, a genuinely good person inside.

Obviously, the first thing you see is looks (in my case, I like girls who are brownskinned Latinas or lightskinned Blacks, with long curly hair, a pretty face, a nice smile, big boobs, a big butt and a coke bottle figure)
But then you actually talk to the girl - and sometimes, with some of these chicks, once she opens her mouth, that totally spoils it!
Because I need a woman with a nice personality - intelligent, good sense of humor, ambitious, compassionate, moral, loving and submissive to men (if she doesn't have those qualities, it's not gonna happen, no matter how gorgeous she is!)
And, of course, she's got to be single - if she's another man's woman, that's too many headaches to worry about - plus, if she'd cheat on him with me, she'd probably cheat on me with the next guy.
And she's got to be heterosexual! If she's lesbian or bisexual, that is a dealbreaker (this can be a problem here in NYC, where there are a LOT of gay girls! - and they don't always tell you that they're gay!)
Above all, the personality thing is the key
Honestly, if the girl doesn't quite have it in the looks department, but she's got the right kind of personality, I would see her as potential girlfriend material.
On the other hand, if she meets my physical standards, but her personality is wack - I could not see dating her!

to start off i just want to say listening to any girl on this question is pointless. what i look for in a girl is how smart she is and how outgoing she is because i dont want to talk to a a boring person who doesnt understand anything i say. but before any guy thinks about that the first thing he thinks about is how the girl looks. because without an attraction then there cant be a good relationship. and last after personality and beauty other guys look at social situation and how much money you have. im not much into that but some guys do.

I'd like to think I found the perfect girl, but our current occupations prevent us from dating. She's smart, beautiful, sweet, caring, very conscious about her health, and always has a smile. Sadly, I was recently promotion to a higher position and cannot date anyone within our store. So after only a week of dating, we decided together it was best for us to put our relationship on hold until she left for college next year.
I wasn't expecting to find anything really. I was never interesting in finding the one, it just kinda happened. Well, I'd like to think she's the one, but who could know?

well a smart guy would look for a girl that he can relate to someone that at frist he wasnt lookin forward to date someone he took in as a friend but end'd up bein everything he ask'd for. a simple guy (mr. right) looks for a girl thats smart, funny, carin, lovin, respectfull, trust worthy. a girl that can keep her self presentable and not sluty. a girl that wouldnt mind stayin in the house on a nice sunny day just playin GTA. a girl that'll be there for him when he needs it the most and when he doenst need it but she knows he does. but thats only what the simple guy (mr. right) is lookin for in THE ONE. the rest of the dudes are just lookin for one thing well 2 things and its LOOKS, and SEX.

I don't think they do...I know for women its how they smell, not their cologne, but has to do with faramones and such...And the smell is stronger when the women is about to start her period. But men its most likely personality, humour, and definalty looks.

well depends wat a guy is like personaly the first thing i think a guy notices is ur but chest and wat kinda clothes u wear cuz that can tell a lot of stuff like if ur shy or not if ur ok with showing bodyparts and stuff like suppose ur a slut u would wear tiny tops and mini scirts and flirt with guys and guys also look at tipe of friedns u hang around

It really depends on the guy. If hes a jerk, he'll catagorize in cup sizes.
