Are you talking about a sore in your mouth or on your lips? If it is in your mouth its most likely an ulcer, on the lips is either a cold sore or fever blister. In your mouth I'm not real sure what to tell you to use, because you haven't given enough information. If the sore is on your lips here is something to try. You will laugh, but it really works. Preparation H. Think about it a little. If you can put it on such a sensitive area and it doesn't hurt it want hurt your lip either, and will actually work on herpies type sores on your lips.

I'm a nurse. Are you talking about a canker sore? If so this is caused by stress. If you are referring to a cold sore, their are so many otc meds for this also. Try talking with the local pharmacist. And exercise relaxing techniques.

Mouth rinse that is salt based or salt in warm water swirled around your mouth.

I do this myself and it makes a big difference.
