The tooth is actually held into the bone by what is called a "periodontal ligiment". Although the tooth is concidered a dead tooth, the ligiment is still connected to living tissue, and thats why it hurts so bad when you try to remove it. Topical anestetics dont penitrate deep enough to numb this ligiment. Your dentist should have an emergency phone number for matters such as this, or, have the ability to at least call in some pain Meds for you till Monday..

Hello, sorry about your problem. The only thing I think of is first numb it with a Popsicle. With the stick at the end of it you can move the Pop into place. 3Min's. on the inside gum of the tooth. Than 3Min's. on the gum closest to the cheek. When you think it's numb enough. Use a apple and bit down on the apple w/the tooth that's hanging. This should do the trick and your tooth should pop out. Remember to than rinse your mouth out with HYDROGEN PEROXIDE WITH WATER TO CLEAN THAT TOOTH AREA. (Don't use cold, cold water Luke warm.) All the best, Star
