dont be worried, she probally just wants to savor the flavor. when she gets older, you'll be able to tell everyone how she looked like a squirrel when she ate. you can even call her your little chipmunk! dont forget to brush her teeth after she eats, (or swallows what she was saving for later) and keep an eye on her while she stores her food away. my daughter did this, and i would put a piece of food in my mouth, and spit it out, and she eventually learned to do the same thing. (kinda gross) but prevented her from choking! good luck!

My 2 year old does that. I was really worried about him choking. Someone told me they do that if they don't get fed enough. I knew that wasn't it with my son and followed him around when he had food in his mouth and found he swallowed it right before nap or bed time. I think he was waking up hungry because I also noticed he would sleep walk and eat in his sleep. So I started feeding him a snack before he goes to bed. So far it has helped my son with the storing of food thing and the sleepwalking thing we just put him in the same room as his brother.

That's cute, my mother said i did the same thing, and my daughter use to do it too. we now just ask her if she is full before she gets to that point of stuffing her cheeks, she will then spit it out.
Don't worry about her teeth rotting it take alot more than this, and you can make a routine of brushing her teeth after meals.

the actually conceivable damage to go back from swallowing somewhat of gum will be choking on it and that has obviously no longer befell. i'm no longer constructive the position your reaction is coming from or why you imagine gum ought to reason some thing worrying to ensue for your 2 365 days previous yet, next time why no longer call poison administration and under no circumstances wait till the subsequent day. you've frightened for no reason and also you ought to do your self reliable to check out why you're so frightened about some thing it is so obviously no large deal.

You are right to be concerned about her teeth if she keeps doing it.
My daughter was doing that too, we wouldn't let her up from the table unles she 'swallowed' it. (and we checked too).
Sometimes she would want to stay there so she didnt' have to swallow...we would leave the table and go play with something and the sounds of giggles and fun were just too much for her to endure so she would cave in after a while ;)

My daughter did this for a while. It is a phase, they think it is cute. In order to break it faster you need to tell her that that is not good, she can't get up from the table until she is finished eating, make sure, and encourage her good behavior. I don't know what it is with girls my son never did this, but he had other issues.

I have a nephew who actually had a pocket in his cheek.. He stored food too...a few hours later he would be eating. he could put bacon and all sorts of food in there.. When he was 2y/o they took him and the Dr closed it because they were scared he would choke in his sleep if he had food in there when he went to bed

My son used to do that.I know a lot of kids who do that.First of all,not to worry. It is a phase, will go away. When she starts storing, you keep telling her to swallow. So many time, until she does it.I used to put my finger on each cheek and tell my son that the food is telling me that they want to go to the Tommy. He would swallow and ask me what are they saying now.It was a game to play, but i got what i wanted and he had fun.

My friend's daughter does that, and it took long time teaching her to swallow her food after chewing, I always thought she has thinner throat than usual, she would always cough while eating, so we gave her soft food and directed her step by step, she was 3 when she finally ate with out help.
