in some ways you have a good point. Though as a person that has traveled around Israel much of it is quite nice.

Regardless your right there are much better pieces of land on earth, not to mention ones that are not so fought over.

personally I think it has more to do with strategic importance. Israel is the crossroads of Africa, Asia, and Southern Europe.

it stat between great empires and was key in controlling important trade routes throughout history. To describe how in full detail would take to long.

anyways these key attributes would be necessary if a people wanted to have influence. Every major empire has come across Israel or the Jews. What is the result? Just look at western law system and morality and I think its self explanatory.

First, God promises that the arid, rock-strewn desert we now know as the "Middle East" will become a garden when He is personally ruling from Jerusalem. He made it; He can make it again.
Second, it hasn't always been like that, and the nation Israel is the ONLY nation that has actively improved the area. Read Mark Twain's "Innocents Abroad" for his very pointed and accurate description of that area before the Jews returned. You might not think it could look worse, but it did.
Third, the place used to look much like Southern California, and even had forests. Then the Jews misbehaved so much that the Romans marched in, fulfilling Jesus' prophecy in Luke 19:42-44. Read Josephus' account of this. To build their seige-works, the Romans ended up clear-cutting the forests for ten miles around the city (the Jews kept trying to burn what they built). Thus, the Roman army is much of the reason why the place looks so desolate now.

maximum Palestinians help the militant wing of Hamas, even however Hamas is utilising them as human shields. So in case you're sitting at your residence in - say - East Chicago, and the West Chicagoans commence lobbing missiles into your properties, do you basically take a seat there, sip your Starbucks and shrug? Or do you placed a end to it? when you consider that whilst is persevering with, harrying missile strikes ideal? Hamas says it won't relax till Israel is eradicated. and persons are stunned whilst Israel comes to a decision to administration it as a substitute of laying down and dying. think of that.

Compare this "God forsaken" piece of land with Israel's neighbors who have oil. Perhaps oil is NOT the answer to our problems... Israel is flourishing in spite of not having natural resources. Neighboring countries have dismal human rights records.
