Depends on your local religious leader.

Most modern religions don't object to it. There are a few notable exceptions of course, the Catholics and the Muslims in particular. My own opinion is that masturbation is completely normal and completely healthy for males and females of all ages, one of the joys of life in fact! There are no side effects, instead substantial short and long term mental and physical benefits. If my religion did object I would just ignore that aspect of their doctrine...but of course that choice is up to the individual. I'm not telling anyone what to do or not do. I do believe that the Catholic Church wouldn't be in moral and financial ruin today if they took a more progressive view of sex. Telling anyone (including priests!) to deny and ignore their God given sexual urges, at least allowing them to masturbate, is not a good idea...in my most humble and ancient non religious opinion of course! God bless us all, including us masturbators!
