Your link to the picture didn't work. But, the burning sensation reminds me of erythema ab igne. Has she exposed her nose to heat or the heat or the sun? Avoid heat and the the heat sun and it will slowly heal. (it will take many months of strict heat avoidance if that is what it is) Don't use vaseline. It traps in heat and the oil will boil on her nose in the hot sun. Use a mild moisturer like Aveeno with oatmeal. Don't use suntan lotions with oil in them either.

My dog went through something very similar, extremely distressing. After v. expensive blood tests she was eventually said to have a dust mite allergy. This was supposed to be treated by a process of desensitization, starting with daily injections slowly reducing to monthly. I didn't like the idea of this as her stress level re. needles was so extreme, so after the initial antibiotic/antihistmine treatment which reduced her distress I treated her with diluted (but at first a v. strong dilution) of pure tea tree oil put on with a piece of sponge which I wd first boil to sterilize. The awful rash cleared up completely. Any time after that she started to itch and chew I started the tea tree treatment again and it always cleared up really fast, I also hoovered, shook out her bedding etc. more, I wasn't particularly mucky, just lived in v. old cottage. Anyway Foxy was about 3 when this started, she's now 12, never needed any more vets visits for the problem, has needed less and less tea tree over the years, and people still comment on her glossy coat. At first, as in your case, the vets were convinced it was flea related, it looked like it was and so that wasted time. It might not be the same but I can tell you for certain that tea tree can do absolutely no harm to your dog but may give some much needed relief. Good luck, Sheilah.

Looks and sounds like a minute case of Sebhorric Dermatitis. I suffer from it and, it can be very uncomfortable. A dermatologist can prescribe a 0.5% topical ointment called Desonide. It's quite greasy and can thin the skin if used too much but, it really calms the symptons quite quickly. Things like coal tar soaps and facial washes can also help but, I've found the specialised products such as Cetaphyl do nothing but make you regret you spent so much money on them!!
A good site for information is listed below.

My friend had it a lot worse, upon advise of his Doctor he quit smoking, drinking or eating hot(temperature) items and hooch, he did it all the same day, in a month he was cured.
Every time he broke over on any of the 3, it would return.
