Limit your contact with them to only when necessary. And when you know they are being fake about something, let them know each time, but refuse to discuss it further. They'll hate that you've got them pegged and they will be very distressed that you consider them not worth your time.

I think that once you identified their true nature, you have the hardest part behind you. Until then, you may have trusted them and put some considerable effort in them to build a team.
This can cause a lot of disruption and emotional distress on you, which can bring you more in trouble than them. Here is where I would focus on solutions by bringing in a third party to talk to to avoid unleashing on the fake people.
From then on you should be able to stay distant but respectful.
Keep in mind that offensive behaviour or mobbing is illegal and can cost the job or even worse. This is true for them as well as you.

treat them as a coworker,be normal, smile if you need to,don't be friendly with them tho,put a certain limit with your relationship as a coworker.have friends outside the workforce.never ,ever trust them with your work or personal life.believe me,it will be for your best interest.thses people are everywhere, they are leeches, don't ever be one of them, just be your true self.you can get where you want to at your own efforts without being fake.

Keep the focus on your own performance at work, as well as opportunities to advance. In that way, you will decide whether or not to stay or eventually leave. You can't change anyone except yourself.

smile and never let them know you are on to them. Remember once they know you are on to them they can be dangerous for you in the work place. Keep them off guard. Cause they are the ones who will do anything to climb up the ladder.

here's what i do.. a simple "hello", or a group "gud morn'g" at the start of the day. "good nite everyone" at the end of the day. and keep it it a minimum during work.. only speak to that person to say "excuse me", or "can you hand me that pen over there, thanks", or "hey, line 5 is holding for you". other than that, just remember work is work, and home is sweet (usually).

Tolerate them. Try to limit your interactions with them. I work directly with one, so, for the sake of keeping my job, I just smile back.

Everyone is right, you just have to ignore them. Keep to yourself and remember that you go to work to make money not friends!
