Good heavens the many people on here that ACTUALLY still think dogs and animals don't have emotion. Why then do they grieve when they lose someone? And why when I leave my friends house, does her dog that's completely in love with me, always try to come with me and run around looking for me when I'm gone?
Puppy kisses are kind of like french kisses where your dog will only stick out her tongue half way and give you little baby kisses. I love puppy kisses!

"I can't think of anything that brings me closer to tears than when my old dog -- completely exhausted after a hard day in the field -- limps away from her nice spot in front of the fire and comes over to where I'm sitting and puts her head in my lap, a paw over my knee, and closes her eyes and goes back to sleep. I don't know what I've done to deserve that kind of friend."
-- Gene Hill
"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the very last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion"

A dog doesn't love the way we would understand love. Love is a human emotion resulting from a complex interaction of feelings that can really only exist with self-awareness.

Your puppy can and will show some of them to you, like an eagerness to please, a desire to be with you and "kisses" when it licks your face to show that it wants you to accept it. But it's all about its needs as it is instinctually guided, even when it's self sacrifice on its part.

That's not to say you can't or shouldn't show affection and love to it. In fact, your puppy will enjoy the acts resulting from your feelings. But be aware that it will love you (from your perception), not because it chooses to, but because it is instinctually guided to do so.

If you define it that way, it loves you already. Just watch over your puppy and take good care of it, and it won't ever stop.

Your FIRST question is whether a dog is even capable of "love." Dogs are, more accurately, loyal. Rather, dogs are pre-programmed to form a herd. Humans have used that programming to have the dog join the human "herd," with the human as "top dog." The dog doesn't care as long as it eats and is well treated.
What your dog might well be doing is trying to establish dominance over you, which is also a pre-programed trait. You must assert your dominance over it and MAINTAIN that dominance, or it'll never do what you say.
Oh, and keep it's mouth away from yours--you have noticed what body part it's repeatedly licking, haven't you?

i think of each thing you mentioned is so actual. I propose the international's hatred is principally according to prejudices. If dogs cared approximately our flaws and shortcomings like people do there does no longer be one in each of those super bond. dogs in basic terms care which you're looking after them and that they are appreciative of what you do. i admire dogs and can't wait to get my domestic dog next week. i'm hoping to learn an spectacular bond with him.

Does the dog sit by you and follow you around when you are moving around the house? Does it come to you when you call it? Some dogs are real laid back and not very demonstrative with their feelings.

WARNING! ******.com contains a virus! I know my dog loves me because she gives me lots of puppy kisses. She looks up at me with understanding when I speak to her. She wags her tail and gets all excited when I walk in the room. She will listen to my commands and obey me because she is so eager to please me. She brings me her toys and bones and invites me to play with her. She jumps on my leg (small dog) and wants me to pick her up so she can snuggle in my arms. This is just a few of the ways she shows she loves me.

If you must ask the question....then no, your dog doesn't love you. When your dog loves you you'll know it.
