its still raw if its boiled. like an egg is. when you boil an egg its still raw but its boiled. so the ham although boiled is still raw. the saying is about endurance. no one man can eat an entire boiled ham. for one man to be able to eat an entire boiled ham raw alone would take a momentous amount of will power. only a man of a serious disposition could undertake such a feat of strength. I personally have never met anyone that can eat an entire boiled ham raw.

Did he eat raw boiled ham, sounds impossible... but did he eat the ham while the raw. If raw, as in him being starkers, then it makes sense.
I prefer ham dressed myself!
