Human beings and monkeys "come from" a common ancestor. We are all related to the monkeys and chimps, etc., but don't come from them.

Grade 3? 4? Christian school?

Your question seems to imply that you have no understanding of evolution.... er..... at all, so let's help you out a bit.

Evolution is a field of science (science is the study of our earth, the planets, the universe, life, and all of those things that can be studied in a strict manner) which explains how all of the plants and animals on earth came to be. It's premise is that life began from a single-celled organisms that eventually divided and changed. The changes, called mutations brought forth the different species that exist on earth.

This all took a great deal of time. Darwin brought forth the idea that as the environment changed, species had to adapt, and that those best able to adapt survived to pass on their genes.

Now, we come to your question. Did Athiests come from monkeys. Looking at this, we must first realize that atheists and christians and jews and muslims are all the same species. In fact, homo-sapiens.... er.... us, are all the same. So, if you're asking "do athiests come from monkeys", your question is just as valid if you were to ask "did I come from monkeys".

Ok.... with that part settled, let's continue.

Evolutionary theory does not pose that humans are descended from monkeys. I know this is a blow to fundamentalist Christians, as it's their common chant "I didn't come from monkeys". Apparently, there is some promulgation of an erroneous theory. (If they are willing to promote this false theory... I wonder what other false theories they are promoting.... lies beget lies beget lies, right?)

Anyway, as both species are extant, it would seem that rather than one coming from the other, we are looking at something called a "common ancestor". It's sad that this is beyond some fundamentalists, but that's the fact.

So, if there is anything you don't understand, grab a dictionary. Grab a science book (The Bible isn't one), and do some reading. Perhaps you'll learn something.

That's funny, the general scientific community no longer hold's that view.

They say man was a separate species that developed side by side.

Don't Atheists keep up on the current research.

It's like Steady State, it went out years after the Big Bang became popular. Especially after Gamma rays were found in the background AS predicted by the Catholic Priest who postulated the Big Bang.

BY the way. Do MONKEY'S or GREAT APES, have an APPENDIX?

Do they have a little tubual attached to their large instestins.

Someone into animal biology post and send e-mail on that, I'm quite curioius if any APE species has an APPENDIX.

Something that Evolution should have thrown out milleniums ago!

well actually monkeys are not our closest relatives. we ivolved from the same ansestor as monkeys and dolphins but monkeys branched off a long time before dolphins did so we are more closely related to dolphins. it was in the news a couple months ago and my bio teacher told me. anyways athiests are people too so they came from the same place we all did. they just dont believe in a god.

I hope your not inferring that theists did not, for I think you'll be quite surprised to find out all men and apes come from a common ancestor. Monkey Man.

what do you mean "come from monkeys"? Did you learn science from the back of a Christian-themed cereal box?

Humans and APES evolved from a common ancestor, but I wonder in a case like yours whether that's too much of a compliment. After all, we now know that our fellow apes are capable of rudimentary abstract reasoning.

Technically, if the theory of Evolution can be assumed correct for the sake of argument, all atheists came from rocks and water.

In the beginning, the world was void and without form. And there were storms, and rains and then lightening ignited a puddle of unique chemical and mineral composition to create life. :/

Humans and monkeys evolved from the same common ancestor: primates.

I'm sorry you feel the need to be special. Newsflash: it's a big universe, and you don't mean anything in it - none of us do.

Also, you might want to look into genetics a bit. Atheists are humans too - just like you. And evolution doens't claim we came from monkeys.

Sounds a lot more logical than believing that men were made from dirt and women were made from rib bones.
