You'll very likely pay more for insurance than you'll pay for the car. Sad fact of life with 3 strikes against you -- Brooklyn, 18, & new driver.

Well I sold auto insurance for a very big auto insurer. I am sorry to say you have a big problem. The first is living in Brooklyn. TWO a new license, THREE just 18 yrs old. It will be very hard to get auto insurance. But some one has to give it to you but it will be big bucks.It could be anywhere form $5,000 to $7,000
Brooklyn has one of the highest rate in the country. This is a fact the insurance Co's hate Brooklyn and they don't want ti give insurance to any one in Brooklyn. This makes me sad because I was born and raised in Brooklyn. Your best bet is to go on your parents policy, if they will let you. If not you will go into a risk pool for 2 or 3 yrs.It could go down after you have your license 2 yrs.

it is going to be very expensive...you can try a place like progressive.com to get just a "rough estimate" of how much per 6 mos.
