for what purpose ? It will lighten the skin tone

Yes,depending on your skin. Lemon Juice WILL NOT LIGHTEN SKIN! My husband is a dermatologist and he says that the only thing Lemon does is if applied to your hair when you go out in the sun, it can bleach it...but not the skin!

Again...Lemon Juice DOES NOT change your skin color.

What Lemon Juice is good for is as an astringent. People with oily skin would benefit from getting a cotton ball, squeezing some lemon Juice on it (make sure it's not the fake lemon juice that comes in a bottle at the store...that stuff isn't fresh)...and then rubbing it on your skin after washing with a gentle cleanser.

Do this no more than once a day if your skin is really oily. If you have normal skin do it like twice a week for some extra exfoliation...but no more. For people with dry skin, the lemon Juice can be really irritating!

Another good astringent is Witch Hazel. you can buy a bottle for like $2 or $ 3 dollars at most drugstores.

It's a lot cheaper than most other astringents out in the market!

good luck!

Lemon juice has been known since ancient times an exfoliate, but can only be used in cases where ph balance is in negative degree. First, you need to test your ph balance with potato peel. Rub the potato peel on your cheek for at least 30 seconds. If you skin tone matches the color of the peel, your skin is perfect balance. If your skin is darker than the peel, your skin is positive ph, and if the peel is darker it is negative ph. If you have negative ph, then lemon juice is a perfect way to lose two to three layers of the epidermal bactirium associated with pilosebaceous caused by overactive sebaceous glands. If you have positive ph, then lemon juice will almost certainly create Follicular epidermal hyperproliferation.

It depends on what you want the lemon juice to do. Lemon juice will dry your skin out so bad, it will pucker. It will also lighten your eyebrows, but hydrogen peroxide will do the same. I haven't heard of using lemon juice to get rid of acne, though.

I've been using lemon lately. It seems to do a nice job of removing the flaky skin I have after washing. I've also read that it's a natural exfoliator.
The "Herbs for Healthy Skin, Hair & Nails" book I bought says lemon is good "For lightening, uneven pigment, antiseptic. Helps to restore normal acid balance. Helps to tighten enlarged pores."

no...it irritates the skin in high concentrations. i would not put it on my face. it may also make it swell and redden because of increased blood flow to the head.
