Since it's winter, My face gets dry letely, and I have a lot of flakes. This only started happening to me about last week, this never happened to me before, ever.... Can anyone give me tips on what to use to get rid of this? I use an Obagi Foaming gel my family use, but my face gets dry and only makes it worse. I've been using Vaseline Moisturizing lotion but it still dries out after a couple hours. My face is really sensitive, so only recommend me moisturizers that are for sentsitive skin. Hope you guys can help me. Can't see myself talking to girls when my face is messed up, and I still have a week of school before the break. :(

I had the same thing. I went to my doc & it's a condition called sebborehic dermatitis. It's basically dandruff on the face especially around the nose & ears. My dermatologist gave me a prescription which is a mixture of Elidel cream & Nizoral cream. It has made the biggest difference. My face isn't red & flakey anymore. I only use it when my symptoms flare up. I also use Nizoral shampoo on my hair and use it to wash my face as well at times. It is an antifungal & it really helps. Although your skin is flaking it may not be dry so using all of those moisturizers really isn't helping it. In the meantime before you go to a doctor you can use hydrocortisone cream & an antifungal to get some releif before seeing your doctor. Just don't use the hydrocortisone cream too much because it can age your skin. But you can use the Elidel & it doesn't age you skin. And since I've been using this medication I can use my alpha-hydroxy acids & other anti-aging treatments without any bad reactions like burning & stinging & flaking. Good Luck. I also use Jane Iredale's pressed mineral foundation which makes my skin absoutely flawless. After using mineral make-up I will never go back to traditional make-up again.

I am experiencing the exact same thing and the most quick way to fix the problem is go to your doctor and get him to prescribe some cream and it clears up instantly...just remember to keep using it throughout winter so it wont come back.
