Dark colours photograph better. Make sure that all of your outfits coordinate. We did our last pictures in shade of olive green and brown.

I think red would look nice and festive!

Avoid horizontal stripes or busy patterns! Horizontal stripes can be a bear for older women who are worried about looking big, but I know you are all young. However, stripes and patterns are distracting and will take away from your charming smiles.

Bring extra clothes to change into (sometimes they allow up to a certain amount of changing in a session for variety ... or you might change your mind about what you want to wear once you see the background)

And this might be a good question to ask one of your friends (someone who knows what the three of you look like). A friend might be able to suggest colors that look good on you.

I just took my kids in and white shirt and blue jeans with bear feet and polish if your a girl is soooo cute. you can do all kinds and give her a couple poses of you all together and single and most good studios will allow you to change your clothes in the dressing room right there. Awsome Idea!! anything you decide your mom is sure to love. Have a great xmas!

Yes, you should wear the same color, but try different styles of shirts like a turtleneck sweater for one of your sisters, a button up shirt for the other, and a v neck sweater for you...
This is a really good idea for a christmas gift for your mother!

That's a great idea. Don't go out of your way to buy something new. Just look through your closets and find something festive. Stick with your basic red/burgundy/hunter/black themes. You could wear similar colors but you don't have to match. For example, last year my SIL had one of my nieces wear a red plaid skirt with a black turtleneck. Another one of my nieces wore a red blouse with a black velvet skirt. And my third niece wore a white turtleneck with a red velvet skirt. It all looked coordinated and nice with the Christmasey backgrounds.

my girls had their picture made in white dresses now they want to do it again in black dresses but the cutest one were where each girl wore the casual clothes and one color was the common thread between the outfits like a bit of yellow or pink or blue...like one had a print dress with spring flowers and the other wore solid baby blue dress and the baby blue was one of the colors in the print dress but not the dominant color...all in denim is cute and jeans with white shirts or pink polos would be cute.
you are a thoughtful daughter and sister to do this with your little sisters.

I think you all should wear your favorite item of clothing and keep it casual. You always take your best pictures when comfortable. I would stick to solid color items or small prints. Your Mom really cares about you and your sisters and not your clothes.

ask the studio on what colours they recommend. Some come up better than others. I personally wouldn't wear the same clothes but if your mum likes this go for it

All 3 of you should wear the same color shirt and make it blend with the background. Red and blue would be good colors.

yes, wear the same colour but change ir around.i.e.: maybe you could wear a white top with a black skirt, and your sister could wear a white skirt with a black top and your other sister could wear a black dress with a white cardigan or something like that. just a suggestion.
