o.k, how the h**l are you going to sleep throw that?? seems somethings missing from this story. like the parents where crack out on something! they don't deserve that baby. when my babies where 1 month, i got up at every little noise. I'm sure any mom/dad would say the same!

Someone just posted and I think they were referring to this case. If I read it right, they put the puppy to sleep. I sooooooo hope I read that wrong! I so completely agree, that baby would have been screaming so for the parents to say they heard nothing is a complete LIE! I would never believe it in a million years unless the baby was paralyzed!! Blaming the dog is RIDICULOUS! 6 week old puppy around a newborn baby without being watched (any breed) is completely irresponsible and the parents are to blame, not the poor dog. Pitbull or not. Makes me sick!

Okay just read the story and it just breaks my heart - for the baby and the puppy. Both were highly neglected here! Like the article says, that puppy would have been chewing awhile to chew off 4 toes. Were the parents in drunken slumbers? How in the hell did they not hear that??? OMG!!

That's horrible! Under the curcumstaces the child definately needs to be taken away from them! As for the poor little puppy, it was probably hungry, because those people were probably neglecting both puppy and baby! I don't know, but what I do know is I never would've let a puppy run loose with a month old baby in a carseat on the floor, even if I was sleeping right next to her! Obviously it didn't make a difference. they were probably wasted on drugs or alcohol.

How sad. I really wish people would stop leaving their small children unsupervised with their pets.

I'm sure there will be a bunch of people blaming the breed, too, but it could have been any breed. Never leave a child and an animal together without an adult around!

Edit: Preferably a *conscious* adult. I'm blaming the adult humans for not doing the right thing here.

I personally think there is something really wrong with this story, first of all why would you keep your one month old baby in a car seat on the floor all night in the first place??I dont even think the parents where there, and if the pup really did do that to the baby, when do you think the last time that dog got fed? really messed up story if you ask me :)

That is messed up, seems to me there is more to the story a 6 week year old puppy in any breed, i just don't see it.

To answer your question, yes I think it is another way to make Pits look bad.

I would highly doubt that a parent would abuse it's own child by chewing off their toes! It just sounds incredibly morbid and not something you would do out of anger! Also, a forensic odontologist would be able to tell where the bite came from EXACTLY! Not just from human or dog but from exactly WHICH human or dog!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061213/ap_on_re_us/baby_s_toes_6 for the news story if folks haven't seen it yet.

Someone needs to b*tch-slap the breeder, too, for selling a puppy at 6 weeks old...
