Both, if you please...
God gave some people the intelligence & desire to become doctors after long, hard study. However, never underestimate the power of prayer.
I am a cancer survivor...I would not have dared to not go to a doctor for surgery & followup treatment. By the same token, I would not have dared to not ask for prayer support. It seems to me that a competent educated medical doctor & prayer are both necessary. God is the author of both.

I would my Doc to be educated and pray, like most Muslim doctors!

Scripture says all good comes from God. It is good for the doctor to pray and it is good for him/her to be knowledgeable about illnesses. If you think doctors learn about illness by their own abilities alone, you're wrong. Intelligence is good and all good comes from God.
It is intelligent to pray to God for healing from cancer, which our church did for a member's son. Next time they checked on him, he was completely cancer-free.

When it comes to cancer, must Doctors expect the family to pray.
We are now starting to find out your WONDERFUL evolution has the CANCER seseptibility PROGRAMMED into the Genome. Once you hit that marker, you're fair prey, which is why most cancers return after remission.

I would hope that my doctor would be educated about my cancer or why else would he be a doctor. He can also be a man of prayer.
