Well, icaruscat is correct the house wins and you lose. You can improve your odds by paying attention. Some machines have the payout listed on the machine. Most slot machines payout a high percentage of what they take in (Most over 90 percent).
If they aren't marked the machines that usually pay the best are located at the ends and near the entrance of the casinos. So that people coming in can see people winning.
If you play long enough even if the machine pays out 99.99% it will still get all your money. Know when to quit.

Depends on where you play. Here in Las Vegas, the off Strip casinos usually have more payouts. Try the machines at the end of a row, near the entrance or near where a line forms( buffet, show or front desk). As for what type of machine to play, video poker (no Dueces Wild) or two coin three reel machines are best. The higher the maximum payout, the harder it is to hit. Also, ask a bartender or cocktail waitress for some advice, but don't bet the farm on that advice
