I got my 2 kitty's (7 1/2 mths old) fixed and declawed thurs. I picked them up from the vet today,(sat) They are both having alot of pain walking. The 1 cat has had some diareah and throwing up and he has hid under the couch all day and don't wanna come out.(not like him) I'm worried. Is this normal? Do you think he just wants to be alone cuz he don't feel good? Thanks!

Dear Tina, I did not know that declawing was such a painful thing to them. I never had cats and didn't know much about them. I would never do anything that I actuallt thought would harm them on purpose. I thought this was something u should do. I luv my kittys! and I would not do it again now that I see what they r going through.

You don't seem like a very responsible pet owner. You didn't do any research on an operation that has now scarred your kitties emotionally and physically for life. Before you get any more pets (God help them) you should look into what needs to be done to be the best pet owner you can be.

Your kittens are in great pain. Declawing is a brutal operation. Not only the nails are removed, the vet has also removed part of the toe, the bone and the tendons. How would you feel with your fingertips cut off? This operation is by now illegal in many countries and it should not be performed under any circumstances. Please - do not declaw a cat again. It can lead to very severe psychological and behavioral problems with your cats. Animals deserve to be treated with kindness and respect.
