I'm on a low carb diet but in the past I would occasionally enjoy a glass of wine with dinner at a restaurant. I've read that dry table wines seem to be the lowest in carbs. What are some examples of a "dry table wine" that I could order at a casual restaurant? Please give me TYPES of wine and not BRANDS. I'm looking for something I could order just about any place I go. (Please keep the answers simple...I am not a wine nut!)

Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are both dry white wines. Sangiovese is a dry red wine.

Seconding anyone else that reported it skill - no longer candy. Pinot Grigio is an occasion of a dry wine, collectively as chardonnays are on the candy component. that is perplexing to describe the flavour different than only the alternative of candy. To me, its what wine could flavor like, yet it is by means of the fact i admire dry wine.

As far as wine is concerned: carbs are carbs.I'm on a strict low-carb as well.
TYPES of wines to avoid would be the "sweet" wines. Rieslings, Blushes,Beaujolais& wht zin,San gria, etc.Chardonnay is borderline. Its the unfermented sugar in wine that has the cals!,much worse for the waistline than carbs. As far as "dry" look for dry reds, sherry(extra dry),etc. As for Port your on your own ,lol. (Actually a tawny red dry port would be good too!)
good luck!
