It all depends on both dogs ages and how well you are at training.
Yes female dogs tend to fight more. Have them both spayed.
A male and female dog usually get along much better together.
2 male dogs will get along well also.
What ever you do have them fixed.

The only problem I can see arising is that female dogs can be very dominant and if there is more than one, they could start trying to over dominant the others. But if they are docile dogs, you should be okay as long as the new dog coming in isn't dominant either. Be sure to slowly introduce the new dog to test it if possible.

I have two females - both spayed. Bringing in a third female, spayed or not, the dogs will fight to win the alpha position. This can be very dangerous.
Don't' forget, bringing in a third dog also mean a lot more annual expense. More dog food, treats, toys, leashes, license, vet visits, emergency vet visits, HW preventative, flea preventative, yearly tests and exams, etc., etc., etc..

Same sex aggression is common in dogs and sometime two of the same sex will fight really bad.
Our rescue always places one male and one female in the same house as it is the easiest pairing and works well for most people.
Many dog will live with one or more of the same sex in the smae house as long as the owner is the one in charge and keeps them in line.
I have two males and one female in my home all are neutered and spayed.

Two females typically do not get along if you are going to get another dog I would get a male.

Nope, not true at all. Females are not territorial. You can have as many females they should be fine.
