About a month ago I lost my Visa Check Card at Wal Mart.Someone found it immediately and used it to purchase $232.00 worth of merchandise.I was told to file a police report and the police would go to Wal Mart, look at the video surveillance, then give me a copy of the police report. Then I take the police report to my bank showing I did not make the purchases, and the money would then be added back to my account. But someone told me that Wal Mart only keeps video surveillance for a week.Does anyone have any information on this?I want my money added back to my card.Is there anyway they can catch the person who did this?I would appreciate any information.

The time varies depending on the store. Contact the police and ask if the the video (copy of) has been obtained.
How did the person use your card without a pin number?? If they signed it, all you have to do is have the copies pulled and signatures compared.
If they don't match, it's the stores loss, they should have ask for ID to compare the signature to another form of signed ID. Contact your bank and report fraud.
If they got your pin number, how?

Wal-Mart isn't going to give you a copy of any surveilance for the same reason ANY store isn't going to give you a copy of their surveilance. So that security isn't compromised.

Showing a police report to the bank will get the money credited back to your bank. After that, the bank will take it from there.

they usually keep them for about a week or so..they willl not give you a copy..but you can foubnd out if the police got a copy by asking them, and more than likely the video will not show who used your credit card not every camera records...so the answer to your question is no they will not do anything to help you dispute the charge with your credit card company..they have to provide you with a copy of the signed reciept you can say it is not your signature..go that route chasing wallmart is a waste of your time

Don't listen to the fat *** pigs on here they love Walmart as they get their donuts for discount price let's say the average fatass cop weighs around 245 and U.S. 5 foot 10- then you would take that times 2 divide it by 50! That's your answer .. They think they are all know it alls.. Being a former Chicago PD for 9 years I saw enough to crumble the empire as we know it corruption galore!

They under no circumstances delete them. They deliver them to the government. Wal-mart is the government, so i may be scared!!! Wal-mart could be referred to as China-Mart because of the fact it extremely is the place they get all of their stuff. guy, this usa, not China.

Don't do what Man said, just call your local Walmart store, ask to speak with the security director and direct that question to him/her.
