Pop the cherry is just slang that guys use regarding taking a girls virginity or girls saying that they've lost their virginity in the context of, "I've had my cherry popped."

it means losing virginity,which causes bleeding, but this (breaking hymen) need not always cause bleeding, as som women don't hav that layer hymen (as it may wear and tear due to dancing ,cyclingand all),so absence of hymen,or absence of bleed doesn't really signify that she had already had sex(or lost virginity).
