I adopted a 14 week old male Border Collie x Dalmatian around two weeks ago. He settled in with my 4 month old female Lab and my 5 yr old GSD x Lab very well. Last week he lost his appetite. I took him to the vet and they said that he just had an upset tummy because I changed the food over to what I was feeding (Science Diet) too quickly. Then he got it back a few days later. I wasn't worried until just 4 days ago he got his appetite back but he was eating EVERYTHING. From cat food to trying to EAT dirt and balls? He was then VERY aggressive towards ANYTHING and ANYONE! He was growling at Lili (GSD x) and Molly (Lab) and me and my cats. I wasn't worried too much as Molly went through an "aggressive" time when I brang her home. He is very restless and he has mild seizures. He only started having these seizures yesterday. I'm very worried and can't stand to see my boy seizing and acting so aggressive and fearless! He was so sweet and kind when we brang him home.

I've searched google for these symptoms and can't find anything. I've seen people on here with dogs with these symptoms (Rabies) but my dog hasn't been outside the house and Lili and Molly haven't/don't have Rabies to give it to him! I'd be so devestated if he died. I can't take him to the vet yet because not only don't I have a car at the moment; I don't get paid for another 3 days! I still owe $500 in vet bills from my cat who died a bit over a month ago. He can't have Rabies because he isn't foaming at the mouth and he CAN shut his mouth. What can and should I do? I'm so worried and so scared!!! I don't want my cats and my other two dogs to get sick! Please help me, I've got no idea what is wrong with him. Any vets know what these symptoms are pointing to?

I need to know what to do. I'm scared he wll bite me. I'm just hoping this is nothing and the seizing, aggression, restlessness will all stop in time.

Kitty, I give all my dogs and cats a fair ammount of attention. If anything, he is getting the MOST attention because he is the 'new addition'.

He is SICK. I get that. NOT jealous.
He has his own food bowl, his own toys, his own bed, his own grooming supplies, his own EVERYTHING.

The ONLY thing my dogs share is my love!

tlctreecare, when we brang him home, he had a wound on the back of his left leg. It had around 6 stitched but I think it was too small to be a bite from another dog?

dreamyangel117, The worker at the pound said that he was due for distemper, pervo, hepatitis and canine cough when he was 16-18 weeks old, other than that, he had all his other shots. I can give him all the medical attention he needs. He was checked over by a vet before we left the pound so don't accuse me of being irrisponsible. I have 2 other dogs who I have paid to do shots, MC, de-sex (5 yr old), register and have paid over $3000 in vet bills in 2 years for Lili (5 yr old GSD x) It is more than what other people do. When my dog is sick, I take it to the vet. In this case, I can't do that yet. You obviously don't know anything about me or what I do to help homeless dogs in the shelters so don't tell me I'm an irrisponsible owner!

He just vomitted again, yellow foam and he now has yellow foam around his mouth. I called the rescue shelter where I got him 4 times but no answer.

He tried to bite me when I tried to clean the foam around his mouth. I'm going to try and call my brother to see if he can take me and Max to the vet.

The vomiting white/yellow foamy stuff is just from not having anything in his stomach at the time. Nothing to worry about there.
The seizures are a huge problem. If these are the grand mal type like floping over nad jerking and stuff like that he needs to see t he vet really soon. In fact any type of seizure should be seen by the vet. If he is epileptic they can control it with meds.
But the aggression and seizures sonds bad and it needs to be seen by a vet. Your dog could be having some ytpe of neurlogical trouble and needs help soon.
this does not really sound like rabies and unless he has been bitten by something with it he is not going to have it.

Dogs can get aggressive like that when they are sick so I would focus more on the illness rtaher than the aggression. Of course don't ignore it, he needs to still know that it's not okay to behave that way but the vet really needs to find out what he's sick with so he can get better. If you can't afford a vet visit right now, call your local humane society. A lot of the time they can help with very little to no money out of pocket in situations like this. I'm so sorry, your puppy sounds like he's miserable! I sincerely hope this gets figured out and soon. Please update us!!

you can't fix this by yourself im sorry. he needs to see a vet ASAP!!!!!! you need to know if he has had all his shots and maybe he was having some type of reaction to the food you fed him. im sorry im not attacking you but i think it was very irresponble to bring a pup into the house if you knew you couldnt give him medical attetion if he needed it. hes obviously very sick and he needs to be examined.
