I just upgraded my windows media player 10 to version 11. Now whenever I open it, it asks me to validate something and I don't want to do that. The old version came installed with my computer. Anyone know how I can get the old version back or avoid this validating thing. (preferably avoiding the vatidating process) Thank You very Much.

I think you may be caught up in a fix. This validating is to check whether it is the genuine operating system i.e. original. If you are sure then proceed to validate. If you are not sure or know it is not original, try unistall the new version from Add or Remove progams menu in Control Panel. You can try install the older version from Microsoft -http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/10/default.aspx

Miscrosoft could have included the validating tool in this older version also. Anyhow try this. If this also asks the validating, then search the net for older dated media player version 10.

You can still download v 10 from the Microsoft site (look under the "select a version" dropdown menu)
