for those who want more scripture on faith.........

By Faith
1Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. 2This is what the ancients were commended for.
3By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. 4By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did. By faith he was commended as a righteous man, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith he still speaks, even though he is dead.

5By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. 6And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

7By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By

When Jesus saw how much his diciples really loved him, he forgave them of all their sins.

There was times in Jesus life that he was showing us His Father-ship, and not Son-ship. Jesus was (or should I say is) the Fleshly Manifestation of God, in this world.

It's like the Woman with an issue of blood who through faith touched the hem of his garment and was cleansed of her disease, and Jesus sayss to her... In Matthew 9:22, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

See also Luke 8:48.

For Jesus at this particular moment in time wasnt showing his Son-ship, but His Father-Ship.

The word Daughter is spelled with a capital "D" and is used in this format only twice in the Bible and both mention above. Showing her relationship with him. He called her "Daughter." And she could only be the Daughter, if He was the Father!

Other words; Jesus was saying to her, she was now one of his children.

(Note) Also under Jewish belief, no body could forgive sin but God. With Jesus possessing the ability to forgive sin was also showing us his God-ship.

James 3:2 says we all stumble and sin
this man was a sinner and Jesus was sent by god to forgive our sins by his shed blood.so this was prior to shedding his blood.this man put faith that Jehovah sent Jesus to the Jews for repentance and to bless them.thus Jesus said the statement at Luke 5:20 so Jehovah allowed Jesus to heal people to prove that he was the messiah the one calling to the Jews for repentance.

Abraham had faith too but, it wasn't until he tried to sacrifice Isaac that the Lord said "Now, I know..." So faith without works is dead just like Scripture says later (James I think)

To some extent we can bring people to a place where they can come back into a relationship with God.

(it would help if you included more than just the one verse, that's how people get confused due to it being taken out of context.)

Luke 5:20 And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee. (21) And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone? (22) But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts? (23) Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk? (24) But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house. (25) And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God. (26) And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.

By our faithful prayer for others they may receive healing from God even if they are not Christians. Jesus was saying that this man's sickness came from God for past sins and that because of the faith of his friends Jesus was going to forgive him and remove the earthly penalty God had inflicted on him. It doesn't mean that the man was saved from the eternal or temporal penalty of future sins. It's like this similar passage where Jesus healed the man who couldn't reach the pool before someone else got there first.

John 5:14 Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, "See, you are well! Sin no more, that nothing worse may happen to you."

Well, I think it's an attempt by a Christian to try to recruit more to his faith.

The Bible verse was again taken out of context. You neglect to mention that it's with Jesus in a crowd, about to perform one of his miracles... that of taking a man on a stretcher and telling him to walk. Some use the following verses to attempt to prove that Jesus was God.

The verse doesn't say, in context, that anyone who has faith has their sins forgiven. Jesus was speaking to a specific individual, and offering forgiveness to that single person. Out of context, your verse doesn't really say much.

Clearly you only do not get your sins forgiven when you repent. For some reason you just need "faith" without repentence.

CRAZY! huh?

That God's grace is a wonderful thing

Of course that doesn't mean any new ones. Any falling from grace. It means you go forth and don't do any wrong, you know, like get a NO FAULT DIVORCE, like HAVE SEX BEFORE MARRIAGE, CHEAT ON YOUR SPOUSE and stuff like that there.
