I'm not too sure about lemon juice, you may have to put a lot in your hair to get a drastic look. I strongly strongly advise against using Sun In. I attended cosmetology school for about 2 years and we always suggested not using Sun In, the product.
I've done hair on a girl who had used Sun In in the past and then I colored it. When I washed the color out of her hair, the Sun In made her hair so weak that it was actually like an elastic band and had to be cut out. I would just use a product made for highlighting hair

Well, nothing if you just put it in your hair. Sometimes if you put it in your hair and spend time in the sun with it in, you'll lighten your hair. SOMETIMES. Otherwise, you'll have citrus-y smelling hair.

it will after like 30 applications make your hair lighter (not that evenly) it doesnt make it that much lighter, but it is noticable
