it is because the earth is tilted so now the sun shines more on the other half, but in the summer, it shines more on our half

Because the Earth is tilted "back" on it's axis, pushing the northern hemisphere further away from the sun and causing shorter daylight hours and colder temperatures. However, the southern hemisphere right now is experiencing summer. Vice versa when it's summer here, it's winter down here. There is a much more noticeable lighting difference around the poles - Alaska, for example, in the summer can have daylight at midnight, but during the winter the sun may not appear until 10am and set at 3pm per say. Daylight savings time also plays a role for those lower 49 states that participate in it. Arizona, I believe does not.

It has to do with the tilt of the earth and the rotational pattern of the Earth around the sun. During the winter months, the northern hemisphere is tilted away from the sun, so it gets less sunlight hours in each day. During the summer, the northern hemisphere is tilted towards the sun, so there are more sunlight hours in each day.

Reverse the tilts for the southern hemisphere.

The rotation of the earth causes the Sun to strike the atmosphere in certain ways at various points of the year, causing the days to be longer or shorter.

It's where the earth is sitting in relation to the sun. During winter where you live is farther from the sun then at other times.
