You can take Tylenol or Motrin to help bring down temp. It is not to high though you body is actually fighting the virus and if you can you should try to let it.

It's not "really high", but fevers in adults are usually a sign of an infection.
To treat your fever, just take a gram of Tylenol (aka: acetaminophen)
If you still have a fever, you can take 400mg of Ibuprofen (aka: Advil, Aleve, Motrin)
You can alternate these medications every four hours. DO NOT overdose on Tylenol (read the label). That should kick your fever.
If it doesn't, you might consider going to a clinic or visiting to your doctor.

Also, get lots of rest and increase your fluids (clear liquids: 7-up, sprite, water, gatorade, etc.) Keep checking your temp to make sure it's going down.

Good luck!

100.9 degrees is NOT high at all. I'd take a long hour long shower, and then take a wet rag to your head. Wait for a few days, and constantly eat things with Calcium in it. (oranges, orange juice, peanut butter, etc.) Take tylenol or aspirin every 4 hours, and then see if you feel better. 104 degrees or higer is when you need to be worried. Also, you can drink a lot of water to get rid of a fever. I was told that by the helpline of some book, i hope you get better ;) good luck

Get well soon... your temp is not that high for your condition... remember that the body is fighting the cold hence the temp rises yours is not high under the condition... drink plenty of water, water, water and then chicken soup has been proving to help fight the common cold.. another remedy i like is peppermint and ginger ale tea use the ole fashion ones either flat or round and hard, take three and 8oz or ale and heat till mints are melted serve hot.. with any home/holistic treatments there can be side/adverse effects please use in moderation and tell your doctor/pharmacist of the treatment(s) you are using this includes over the counter types also juice is good... tomato is better than orange right now for your system. important factors is your overall health and age.. did you know that we never get the same cold twice... our body's builds up a defense against each one as we get them and the memory cells launch an attack before we ever feel the symptoms... the thing is that there is over 400 different types of "colds"

The best thing u can do now since probably ur doctors office is closed is to take medicine and rest. Do not eat real solid foods like steak or anything like that. Jello and pudding etc will be good. If it gets serious have someone drive u to the emergency room if not wait until Monday. 100.9 is high but if ur body goes I believe above 105 its very crucial that u get to the hospital. Check your temperature often.

That's not a high temp. Your body is just trying to fight the infection. Just rest and try to take it easy. If the only symptoms are basic sick symptoms then you should be ok. But if it gets worse or your temp increases drastically-like 103- then that's a time to go to the dr. If you're vomiting it's easy to get dehydrated. make sure you're drinking enough. And if you don't feel better within about 3 days call the dr and ask if you should come in if you're not sure.

The normal body temp. is 98.6, so you have a low grade fever. Take some Tylenol and drink plenty of fluids, you probably are coming down with a flu. If symptoms persist and your fever increases, see a doctor.

take some tylenol, or advil, or something like that, it will help you feel better. But no, 100.9 is not a really high temp. If you get to 103 or higher, then you might want to start worrying, but just keep taking the medicine for the fever and it should help.

if you feel so sick that you have to ask yahoo answers..you may want to go to the emergency room. a couple of years ago...i ran a fever and was achy and was chilled to the bone. i knew it was more than a cold or flu, so i went to the emergency room. turns out that i had pneumonia. 100.9 is a little high...but the aches and pains may signal something else.

Put a cloth over your forehead. See a doctor soon. If it gets over 103 go right a way.
