No, your daughter is NOT overweight.

Height/weight tables are less accurate measurements of normal weight and overweight. However, they offer a weight range which some people find more convenient.

Check your weight against the Acceptable Weight Range for your height and age.

For a girl in preteen/teen years, this is a pretty generalized scale:

5 feet tall should be around 100 pounds, average. Any under that is underweight [ten pounds shouldn't be too bad, not unhealthy at least... just active], and any over [again, ten or fifteen pounds shouldn't matter here] is overweight. Add five pounds for every inch gained in height.

So, really, she's underweight--maybe a little taller than the other girls, which might be why your friends think this. But, in all honesty, they're wrong! She's normal, if not a little thin! Good luck.

From the information you provided, she seems to be at a healthy weight. Keep in mind she is going to be growing ALOT over the next few years. Some pre-teens take on a round-faced, "chubby" appearance just before puberty kicks in, but the rapid growth in height that follows usually offsets the early weight gain. It's normal development. The best thing you can do to help her become a healthy adult is emphasize eating a balanced diet of healthy foods and getting exercise of some kind almost every day. Staying active is really key to a healthy life.
If you practice healthy habits yourself, your child is likely to pick up on them without even realizing it.

Be aware that media images and comments from other people may have alot of influence in how your daughter feels about herself. Teach her that beautiful people come in all different shapes and sizes, and that beauty is more about respecting yourself and others than what shape you are or what clothes you wear.

Also to add to having a normal weight, they have done studies that say that when the parents were concerned with the child's weight and/or put them on a diet that they had a greater chance of being overweight when they are adults, than those who never worried about it.(I can also speak from experience.)

She is probably within normal weight.
According to this site she is slightly underweight about 2 pounds for her age, sex, and height.

Hope you consult a doctor but my understanding is that if she is crazy to lose weight she may suffer in breast development soon.

Best of luck. Hope she does not "feel" fat, lots of girls who are not do.
