Yes and no. It's good to care about your looks enough to be presentable, but once you reach to point when you spend more time on your looks than with God or doing things more important than looks, you have a problem. Another problem would be if you started to love yourself or your looks more than God, or because of your looks didn't respect others or looked down on them.
That's when trying to look good turns bad...
Otherwise I think you're alright.
