like when they poor things, there is so much still in the containers. and when they serve the food they leave so much in the bowls also....why do they waste so much food?!

They do not waste it,in fact truth is.Off camera when show is done,the crew eats it.I mean comeon good chef+good food+set full of hungry ppl=No food at end of show.

Due to the shows time constraints they do what is called "Swap outs" where the full process time is cut to meet the shows tapeing schedule. All of the food is completed and then sent to the local Resource Center to be distributed, which is done in advance. You do know that the shows aren't taped every day

They aren't on a budget like us. Compared to the other costs involved in such shows, the cost for the food -- used or wasted -- is very, very small.

Well they want to make sure that they have enough for the demo that they are doing, it would look bad if they didn't have enough to finish whatever.....so they go over.
In reality do you think they all sit down and eat what's left anyway...maybe if they are hungry and if they are really hungry they may just make the rest and finish it.

The food is probably given to them free so they have no vested interested in saving it or giving it to a Homeless Shelter.
