I am putting up outdoor lights for a friend who did the keep the box.

read the warnings they normally say three but you can buy special extension cords made for christmas lights that have several outlets on them .

It will state on the box how many light strings can safely be joined together. I have seen a limit of 3-6 depending on the type of lights.

Try not to go more than 2 per outlet.
You do not want a torched tree!
