I asked this question and got a very good answer, I will copy and paste answer here because its very hard to explain.
It is VERY difficult to commit this sin. Blasphemy against the Holy Ghost implies that the blasphemer has been granted absolute knowledge of the Divine and a confirmation of acceptance by the Son of Man....by being "caught up" into heaven in vision and receiving such confirmation....or being "sealed unto salvation" by the direct declaration of Deity....God himself...through his testator...the Holy Ghost.
Once in this blessed state...not given to you by an act of any man or woman...but given to you by the power and authority of the giver of all good gifts.....you must then choose to walk away from it and deny it in order to commit this horrible sin.
If you deny this absolute knowledge after receiving such a powerful witness....you have refused a gift in absolute awareness of its value and meaning....and cannot again apply to receive it. You have denied the absolute gift of the Holy Ghost...the absolute witness of the divinity of the Son of God and your acceptance by Him. At this point you become lost to salvation forever...permanently negating the whole reason for having been born in the first place...Judas Iscariott is a Christian example of this state of despair.....and what did he do after he blasphemed against the Holy Ghost...he died of grief and guilt.
Key point...you can't blaspheme against the Holy Ghost in ignorance....you can't casually commit a sin so grieveous as to cause the loss of your salvation forever.....it takes work and real knowledge of the stakes involved.
Sooooo.....unless you have gained the company of men such as Abraham, Moses, and others whose lives were elevated to the final stage of Faith....to the level of direct revelation from God and His Confirmation of your state of grace through His son......unless you are in this special company of leaders and servants, you are incapable of committing this sin.....You are like the rest of the followers and family of the Children of God....still winding our way through life learning line upon line, precept upon precept....until the perfect day.
Just strive to learn the heart and mind of Jesus Christ.....and then let that be your guide in life.
If you understand His heart and Mind...you will be guided to all truth, and that path will lead to further light and knowledge...which will ultimately have you standing in front of a person you know really well. When He sees himself in you....that's when you have figured it out. Don't concentrate on ways to fail....focus on ways to live the abundant life.

That's a question that has many bible believing christians debating over. Clearly, Jesus said that anyone who blasphemies the Holy Spirit will not receive forgiveness either in this life or in the life to come. He said all other sins can be forgiven.
The reason it's arguable is because there is another sin that is never forgiven, and that's the sin of dying without Christ as your Lord and Savior. So if there's really only one unforgivable sin, are the two really the same sin?
So the real answer is behind the definition of blashemy as defined in first century Greek.
I will say that if you are a born-again christian, as far as I know it is impossible to blashemy the Holy Spirit (even if it was an accidental slip of the tounge). Remember, God isn't sitting around just waiting for someone to screw up. He know's your words and what you meant by them even before you speak them. My guess is that you're probably being duped by the devil.

Everyone has a different opinion about this. But what I have always been taught is that the unforgiveable sin is not receiving salvation. How that is the same as blaspheming the Holy Spirit, I do not know. I'd ask a preacher.

before you leap to conclusions we ought to do not ignore that there has been huge study performed for our income, i'm constructive you've the Library DVD, form in the scripture you're having a topic information and lookup all reference textile. I did this with Mark 3:29 one reference is as follows: The Greek “Aion.” “Age” would also examine with a era of time in guy’s historic previous, no matter if having or no longer having datable bounds. it really is oftentimes used to translate the Greek note ai·on? (plural, ai·o?nes) in some translations. Greek lexicographers educate the note to propose “area of time obviously defined and marked out, epoch, age,” and also “lifetime, life,” or “age, technology.” for the reason that an epoch, or age, can start up and end or it ought to go on continuously, it follows that ai·on? ought to examine with a era of time it is infinite, even with the truth that having a starting up. subsequently, as recorded at Mark 3:29, Jesus stated that the blasphemer adverse to the holy spirit became to blame of “eternal [agelong, perpetual, eternal] sin,” or a sin under no circumstances to be canceled out at any destiny time. a similar expression became used with reference to the fruitless fig tree, the position “continuously” in the Greek is really “to [for] the age.” (Mt 21:19) At Jesus’ delivery the angelic promise became that “he will rule as king over the living house of Jacob continuously [actually, into the a at the same time as].”—Lu a million:33; see TIME INDEFINITE. announcing that sinning adverse to the Holy Spirit and eternal sin are a similar isn't extremely authentic, close yet what Jesus is explaining is why sinning adverse to the Holy Spirit is unforgivable- this is because it really is a everlasting sin so announcing it really is a everlasting sin explains why it ought to't be forgiven. no you ought to unknowingly sin adverse to Jehovah's Holy Spirit because of this Christ died for us and if we die we will be resurrected as Acts 24:15 explains. Sinning adverse to the Holy Spirit is the 2d lack of life from that you will be able to't be resurrected thereby being a eternal sin- you'll continuously be useless!

I beleive the unforgivable sin is the denouncement of the holy spirit. Not speaking "bad" but the simple denial of it's existence would be enough.
Course, it's also believed that the unforgivable sin was just embellished by some sects of the Catholic Church to keep order and followers. As many denominations believe that you will all goto heaven no matter what as long as you accept the lord, god, and savior into your heart and give your soul.

Shalom,
All sin isn't not equal just as different crimes committed by people equate to different amounts of jail time. So is it with sin. And blasphemy against the holy spirit is the greatest sin one can ever commit. That is to say in plain words to know the ways of God and all of his righteousness and to taste a portion of the kingdom to come as you make your mind into the good ground and to then go back to your lifestyle and mindset prior to you discovering this esoteric knowledge is blasphemy against the whole spirit. What is the holy spirit? It's the divine awareness that allows one to understand and see the mysteries of God.
And in scriptures written by Peter he warns:
"...are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. Of them the proverbs are true: A dog returns to its vomit, and, A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud"
"...For if we sin deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful prospect of judgment, and a fury of fire which will consume the adversaries."
Peace
Aza

The "unpardonable sin" or blaspheming the Holy Spirit is not a one time event, it's a life of spurning and rejecting the witness of the Holy Spirit when He is witnessing to you in regards to the deity of God's Son. In other words, Jesus Christ is truly the Son of God, who's Blood was agonizingly shed on the cross, that the sinner (you and I) may have eternal life.
But if we go through our entire life denying that we are sinners in desparate need of the Savior's wonderful gift or that we can make it by our own righteous works, or that the Word of God is complete fiction and die in this condition, we're on thin ice and in danger of eternal damnation.

The unforgivable sin or blaspheme against the Holy Spirit can only be done by God’s elect when they are delivered up for a testimony.
Matt.12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
Mark 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:
Luke 12:10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.
Luke 12:11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:
Luke 12:12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.
Mark 13:11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
Luke 21:12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.
Luke 21:13 And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
Luke 21:14 Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:
Luke 21:15 For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
The unforgivable sin will not happen because that God’s elect cannot wait for the opportunity, adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

According to the Bible, one act of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is unforgiveable forever. The words are pretty clear cut and come straight from the mouth of Jesus, so you know it's not a lie, exaggeration, or miscommunation, right?
"But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation." -- Mark 3:29
"And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come." -- Matthew 12:32

Many soft Christians will dance around about the meaning of "blasphemy", but the fact is that if you read the Bible, the Christian god is a very vengeful, spiteful god who kills entire generations of children (1st born of the Egyptians in Exodus), and is quite capable of being unforgiving.

I believe the only sin that can't be forgiven is the sin of unbelief. If we truly believe and truly repent, God will forgive any sin. As you know, true repentance brings a definite change of behavior!
