God's actual name is YHWH or JHVH-he wrote it for Moses when asked while writing the 10 commandments. There is some debate about the first and third letters because of the Hebrew phonetics, and there are no vowels in the Hebrew alphabet, so today's pronunciation of them is merely a guess. These four letters are called the Tetragrammaton It's meaning is too much to get into here, but a little googling will get you there on your own. Many people pronounce it Yehovah or Jehova or Yahweh.
Bonus points? Jesus' name was not Jesus. He was called Yeshua.

Of course God has a name. It's Jehovah. Unfortunately it's been removed from most modern translations. Try an older King James Version and look up Psalms 83:18. Also, look the name up in the Encylcopedia for more information. The Bible encourages us to use his name in worship. So read up on it. It's very interesting.

Depends on which god you're talking about. The Judeo-Christian god was originally known as Yaweh (or Aten, if you believe the link between the Jews and Akenaten), then he was known as Jehovah. And different sects of Judaism or Christianity (there are well over 1,500 of them) may call God by different names, depending on where they draw their mythology from.
If you're trying to differentiate your god from others, though, it's best to research yours and the ones of those like yours to best be able to describe the differences (the Yaweh of the Old Testament is a very different god than Jesus, for example).

Yehovah
The Massorah has a rubric calling attention to these first 4 acrostics. This locks in the name of God according to Hebrew and Biblical scholars. The name also being spelled backwards for Divine reasons, a subject for another time.
Est.1:20 And when the king's decree which he shall make shall be published throughout all his empire, (for it is great,) all the wives shall give to their husbands honour, both to great and small.
( shall give to their husbands honour both to great and small ) Hebrew ( Hi Vekal Hannashim Yittenu ) HVHY
Est.5:4 And Esther answered, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him.
( let the king and Haman come this day ) Hebrew ( Yabo Hammelek Vehaman Hayyom ) YHVH
Est.5:13 Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king's gate.
( this availeth me nothing ) Hebrew ( zeH eynennV shoveH leY ) HVHY
Est.7:7 And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king.
( that there was evil determined against him ) Hebrew ( kY kalethaH elayV haraaH ) YHVH
Also a 5th acrostic of “ I am”, ( I am that I am ) Hebrew ( ehyeh asher ehyeh ) Exo.3:14
Est.7:5 Then the king Ahasuerus answered and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so?
( Who is he, and where is he ) Hebrew ( huE zeH veeY zeH ) EHYH “I am”
The Massorah has a special rubric calling attention this acroustic.
Psa.96:11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;
Hebrew ( Yismehu Hashshamayim Vethagel Haarez ) YHVH

Muslims and Arabic Christians call God Allah. Very religious Jews use the term HaShem, which actually means "the name (of God)." Most Christians use the name "God," in whatever language they speak. For example, a German Christian uses "Gott," and an Italian Christain uses "Dio."

Transliterated into English: YHWH
With vowels added: YAHWEH
Translated: I AM WHO I AM
Exodus 3 verse 14: God said to Moses, "I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I am has sent me to you."
Yaweh is derived from the Hebrew word for, "I AM". God used the name I AM to show his unchanging nature.

Hi Sammy !!!
The name of GOD, WOW !!!! GOD BLESS YOU by the way. GOD,s names are; "THE ALPHA & THE OMEGA", whchi means, the very first and the very last.
Also, "I AM", HE reffered to himself, "I AM WHO I AM" several times in the scriptures.
Also, HIS name as "THE FATHER", that's why even in babtisms, It say's in the name of "THE FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT, AMEN"
GOD's name also as "THE CREATOR". And Sammy, now that I mention HE IS THE CREATOR!!!! Your CREATOR, my CREATOR, everything was created by HIM, why would HIS name be that important anyway???
What is really important is that without HIM there would NOT be, you, me or anybody else, not even SATAN himself, woukd exist!!!!
So pray, follow the commandments, keep your heart clean, belife, make GOD your first choice in your life. Because regardless of HIS name, HE does knows yours, and is already written in golden letters, and HE is the keeper, of your name, your heart and your life!!!
Just rejoice in HIM, and recognize HIM for who HE is your "LIFE LINE" so keep connected!!!! I know I will !!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR
