Perhaps you taste good. Just joking. Licking is affectionate, but can also occur when something is out of balance with our body chemistry. Dogs can even smell and taste enzymes related to depression that we can secrete. Licking can also be nervousness or anxiety on the dog's part, when he has a problem that he can't figure out how to communicate to you. For example, my dog used to lick my feet nervously whenever a kitten of ours was treed by a bear. He didn't get nervous when just the bear came by. Only when the kitten was treed.

Chances are your dog likes the taste of the oils in your skin or the lotion you put on....if you don't want them licking you then tell your dog no and push him away. Continue this until he learns. You can also try giving him a bone or something that tastes better to him to distract him.

A dog licking your face is a sign of respect. Alpha dogs are licked by non alpha dogs all the time. My dog did this, i just put my hand in front of my face and said no and pushed him away...it worked.

Really and honestly this sounds cruel and disgusting but put hot sauce on your face for a few seconds and let her lick it off ... she will never do it again..

He is licking you because he loves you. Those are puppy kisses. Don't discourage him.
