I think Monet was best because he wasn't afraid to express himself his own way during a time that didn't accept his artwork. Just think about this : What if Monet painted in realism instead of impressionism? Many people would not consider my answer valid because I am only 13, but I have already been to an art's academy, unlike many adults.

van-gogh. his paintings went beyond monet by painting what and how he felt and not just what he saw. he was also more experimental and open to other types of art, unlike monet who slated gauguins art. monet had a better painting technique and brush control.

Monet.
Though "better" is an inaccurate word. It's often necessary to ask, "Better in which way or at what precisely?"
Van Gogh struggled with drawing, got better, and is chiefly known for bold use of color and expressing his emotions (sometimes extreme and troubling) with fluid, richly textured strokes of paint on his canvases. Quite effectively, though.
Monet was a master.

Van Gogh is tops for me. I think to myself when I look at his work, "self, there is a human who feels deeply" -I have to love him

I dislike both, probably because when you see an artist's work over and over on postcards and magnets and calendars and in every single modern art history class, it loses the magic that it would have on someone who is seeing it for the first time.
or neither's work is aesthetically pleasing to me.
but Monet was the first to rebel, if that counts for anything.
