please give me a passage.or a passage that can be interpreted that way. I'm for gay rights and I just want to see where people get this idea (other than a preachers word) that homosexuality is wrong

Homosexuality is not an alternative life-style acceptable to God. Frequently, both gay and liberal preachers twist the scriptures in futile endeavors to make it seem that it is. (2 Peter 3:16) Thousands of years ago Jehovah destroyed Sodom because most of the males of that city practiced it. Centuries later the apostle Peter likened men who copied those Sodomites to “unreasoning animals born naturally to be caught and destroyed.” 2 Peter 2:6-13.

In unmistakable language, both male homosexuality and lesbianism are condemned by the inspired apostle Paul: “God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites, for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene and receiving in themselves the full recompense, which was due for their error.” Romans 1:26, 27.

Paul specifically mentioned those who evidently take on a passive sexual role and those who assume a more active “male” role in their immoral relations. Thus he made it plain that God disapproves of all homosexual acts.

Paul is saying that anyone that is "homosexual, or & adulterers, nor effeminate "having unsuitable feminine qualities" nor abusers" so he is not just referring to homosexuals but to all above, these cannot be approved of God or receive any blessings from the Kingdom that Jesus talked about when he was on the earth

Is everyone against God? When did that happen? You say "everything was fine, until homosexuality came into the discussion" like homosexuality is an unexpected late arrival to a private party it wasn't invited to. Homosexuality is in the Bible right? Its been in the discussion all along, surprise! It seems that you are reaching a conclusion that Homosexuals dislike religion and are against God. If you take a good long look at the Bible you will find condemnations for a wide variety of things, some of which it is almost certain nearly everyone does at one time or another more or less often in some cases but still.... I don't see married couples that flirt or even cheat or God Forbid have sex without intending procreation turning against God. On Sunday millions of the faithful and devout watch Football on TV or in Stadiums where the players constantly invoke Gods good favor when they score yet that is most definitely not what is meant by keeping the Sabbath. Football fans aren't against God. However I believe what some people are against, or take exception to is the "interpretation" of the Bible by those who wish to impose their human desires, fears, prejudices and misconceptions on others in order to declare themselves petty prophets and protectors of the flock. It's a trick that's as old as time and has been used by everyone from the Pharaohs and the Church to Hitler and Jim Jones, not always for good, not always for bad but always for power and control. I believe many people find this type of perversion of the message of God to be repulsive. There are many many homosexuals that love God and have faith and try to live good ethical lives by the rule of doing unto others and loving thy neighbor, even when he condems and proclaims an eternity in hell (something that is contrary to God's word by the way) for them. I agree with your thought about God not hating homosexuals, after all he made us as we are, each and every one. I'd suggest not generalizing this issue because just like everybody else homosexuals are of all creeds, colors, beliefs, faiths and cultures.

Sin=sin
Stealing=sin
Lying=sin
Killing=sin
Adultry=sin
Homosexuality=sin

The point:

Being a homosexual is more than sinning once. It's walking in a course of sin. Like being a liar is more than lying once.

It's in:

Galatians 5:22-24
Romans
All of the letters from paul (corinthians, esphesians...)
It's in Exodus, Dueteronomy.

That's only by memory...

Just is as every other sin. The thing about gay people is just that they are sinning every day.

Difference is that I (as a real Christian, gasp) repent when I do something wrong and turn from it. And if I don't I'm walking in a course of sin, which is bad.

We all sin. The Bible isn't there to tell you who is a sinner and who's not. It tells you how to get saved from it.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (NIV): "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters, nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."

In the Old Testament the penalty for this sin was severe. Leviticus 20:13: "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them." Today the penalty of death comes in the form of AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. It also brings death to the soul and spirit of man because the life of God is pushed out by indulging in something that is an abomination to God. God wants to deliver all who are trapped in this unholy practice and He will if anyone calls out to Him with a sincere heart.

Genesis 2:21 And God caused Adam to fall into A deep sleep and He (God) He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh 22)And the rib the Lord took from man He made woman and brought her unto the man 23) Now this is bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh she shall be called woman because she was taken out of man 24)Therefore shall A man leave his parents and cleave unto his wife and they shall be one flesh.

You see, God meant for woman and man to be together not man and man or woman and woman also Genesis 1:28 God said, "be fruitful and multiply.
Notice it didn't say be fruity but be fruitful how could we multiply if we are with the same sex (naturally)

Gen. 1 & 2 - we see from the beginning that the complimentarity of the sexes reflects God's inner unity and His creative power and Fatherhood. God created man and woman to become one flesh which is consummated in the act of marital love.

Gen. 2:18 – throughout the creation story, God says “it is good” seven times. But when God pointed out that man was alone, God says “it is not good.” God then created woman. Man and woman therefore belong together by God’s design, according to His natural and supernatural law.

Gen. 2:24 – God created man and woman so that they could share communion. This communion is consummated in the marital act (which must be between a man and a woman). This communion is also a reflection of the eternal communion of the Blessed Trinity, who created man in His own image and likeness.

Gen. 19:24-28 - the Lord rained fire and brimstone on Sodom and Gomorrah as punishment for the sin of homosexuality. Homosexuality perverts God’s covenant with humanity.

Lev. 18:22, 29 - God commands a man never to lie with a male as with a female, or he will be cut off. This refers to supernatural death which is eternal separation from God.

Lev. 20:13 - God says that if a man lies with another man, he shall be put to death. Homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered, unhealthy, and mortally sinful.

Deut. 22:5 - cross-dressing is also considered an abomination before God.

Matt. 19:6 - after referring to God's divine plan for man and woman, Jesus says a husband and wife become one flesh, which ultimately reflects God's union with humanity through the Church. Homosexual unions pervert this divine truth of God’s love for and union with the human race.

Rom. 1:26 - also, when a woman lies with another women, this is unnatural and a perversion. God wants His children to be pure and holy as He is holy.

Rom. 1:27 – Saint Paul calls the practice of homosexuality shameless, unnatural and a perversity. It is contrary to the natural law, as it eviscerates the life-giving aspect of human sexuality and reduces it to a selfish, pleasure-seeking end.

1 Cor. 6:9 - homosexuality is not part of God's plan for His kingdom. Homosexuals are called to chastity.

1 Tim. 1:10 - sodomites are called ungodly and sinners, unholy and profane, lawless and disobedient. They are called by God to chastity. It is important to note that homosexual attractions and inclinations, while dangerous, are not by themselves sinful per se. It is the acting out on homosexual attraction that is sinful. Those with homosexual desires can still live a life worthy of Christ by remaining chaste and pure as they abstain from acting out on their desires.

Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27.In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

All adultery, fornications and idolatries are sin.

Sin is anything that is rebelling against Gods purpose.
