NEVER feed a dog chocolate. It can and does KILL dogs. Chocolate contains theobromine. A naturally occurring stimulant found in the cocoa bean, theobromine increases urination and affects the central nervous system as well as heart muscle. While amounts vary by type of chocolate, it's the theobromine that is poisonous to dogs. It is not a good idea to be feeding any dog - stray or otherwise - chocolate. Why not take some dog treats to work with you and give them those instead.
As for why they've stopped coming, could they have been picked up by a council person and taken to the pound?

Maybe the stray dogs aren't strays. OR maybe you just imagine that u work in a bakery and imagine stray dogs eating chocolate you give them. AND you they stopped coming because you have finally taken medicine. If so congrats on the med.

Don't give dogs chocolate!!! It can make them very sick and/or kill them. If you want to give them something, make it something without the chocolate or better yet, go and buy them some dog food and leave it out there for them.

they're probably all sick or dying of chocolate poisoning...if dogs eat enough chocolate, the symptoms of poisoning are very similar to that of the parvo virus. they suffer badly for 3-5 days before they finally die if they don't get medical treatment....and medical treatment isn't a guarentee they'll recover.

Dogs cannot metabolize chocolate. It is a poison to them. Maybe the dogs don't come around anymore because they have all snuffed it.

They say not to give chocolate to a dog. It will kill them. So, if you start to notice a funky smell, it the dogs you have murdered.
