Okay...so i heard somewhere that a promise ring isnt only for people who arent ready to propose but are for other purposes as well...like saying i love you...you are mine forever...your my one and only valentine...bestfriends forever..things like that...and i recently set up my profile stating that i wanted a promise ring from soemone special this x-mas...and of course i already have that personn (he isnt my bf yet...and i dont thnk im ready to go out with anyone yet) but we both have really deep feelings towards eachother. He asked me what i wanted, he saw my profile, but he acted liek he didnt noe...he insisted that he wanted to get me earrings..but i dont like people picking out earings for me since im very picky...do you think its wrong of me to say that i want a promise ring from him???

well a promise ring for me is a promise for celebacy till marriage from a person you are seriously dating or to your self OR a promise that you'll wait for someone special and that someone will give it to you. For example, i really like this guy, he's like my brother actually and its kind of a long story but he goes to school 9 hours away and i go to school here... if he wanted me to wait for him to get back from school i would hope for a promise ring... sort of as a pre engagement thing... anyway good luck girl...

The guy is probably feeling a little scared right now. To guys, giving a girl any kind of ring is a layover on the way to Engagementville. Why not just buy a ring of your own and enjoy the earrings?

It's pretty wrong, seeing as you guys haven't been steady for at least a year, aren't in love. Be content with earrings, and wait for promises later. Don't jump into something to fast.

he needs to be ready to give it to you too. take the earrings and be greatful. wear them when out with him even if you don't like them. Don't be so darn picky about earrings, there are bigger things in life.
