hi i have a 2001 nissan frontier and we took off the gas tank to put a fuel cell on the bed, and recently put the electric fuel pump. NOw the problem is that when we start it it starts but it will only stay on for like a minute then they truck just shuts off. is there not enough fuel pressure? or what is the stock pressure its supposed to get. the electric pump that we just put in there gives 4-7psi and 130gph. any response will be appreciated.

well they reason i did this quite new here is that we are installing a Air ride suspension and if i drop the truck on its frame the gas tank will stop it cause the gas tank is lower than the frame. and well like i said the truck needs to be layin on the frame since it will be a mini truck

when i say i took off the fuel tank i mean the fuel tank not the engine. and i put a plastic summit racing fuel tank or also known as a fuel cell, in the bed of a truck.

You need something like 40 to 60psi to the injectors. 4 to 7 is what some Small Carburetors take. That original fuel pump puts our some where on the lines of 100 psi. You need a alot more psi to open the injectors...

Let me get this right. You took off the engine to replace the fuel source with a fuel cell?
Maybe the mechanism is just incompatible. Why would you waste a perfectcly good truck for this experiment?
Ask the mechanics at a Nissan repair shop. Maybe they can suggest a salvage, or simply replace the entire engine block from a used parts shop. Might be cheaper.
Chalk it off to a failed experiment?
