Is this kind of like the age old question: Which came first - the chicken or the egg?
As far as Christian logic goes, it sounds about right. I mean, we are talking about a book of stories (fairy-tales) that involve immaculate conception, a talking serpent and a guy that was swallowed by a whale that lives to tell the tale.
Not sure how you come up with this stuff, but it's the best.

How can some of these other answers be so blissfully ignorant. You may as well just answer-"Yes, Cuz I said so"
If God and Jesus are the same person, then how is it that they speak to one another in passages in the Bible? How is it that Jesus is actually given the "choice" according to the bible, of whether or not to sacrifice himself? And why does he say "Father, forgive them, for they not not what they do" and "Father, why hast thou forsaken me?" Talking to himself?
Some of YOU need to start over at page one, or atleast take a look at this oceanfront property I have out here in arizona....
Jesus was a man. A prophet, a teacher of peace and spirituality, close to God, yes-but not God, and not God's son any more than we all are. He was a martyr, yes, but his death was not to absolve the sins of the zillions of people to be lucky enough to be born AFTER that. What about all of the people who died before that. Are they just SOL?
And if, through the death of a single man a couple thousand years ago, I am washed clean and forgiven, and allowed passage into heaven-then what IS the deal with "hell" If it is that simple, then why do the Christians spend all this time bashing other religions and non-religions-Christ was not a discriminator-he died for ALL of us, right? So why does it matter what we believe, or do, or say if you know without a doubt that all our sins and transgressions are forgiven by the blood of Jesus?
And no-the Bible says that God's original plan for Adam and Eve was to let them live forever in the Garden of Eden, innocent and protected. But he gave us this pesky little thing called free will, and they CHOSE to eat from the tree of knowledge, which was forbidden. So God punished them with pain, periods, and work. He didn't "plan" to have to pull a Jesus out of his arsenal thousands of years later. According to Christian beliefs, God was displeased by the old testament procedures for atoning for sin, because they had no meaning or feeling and were just two doves this and heart of a bull that, party party party. That's when Jesus supposedly came into play.
How can you people so viciously defend what even you know so little about?

You miss the mark and your questions are shades of what really happened how G*d has done away with sin. Very briefly,
The "Word" always existed from eternity, so G*d did not create him, as it is written, "He was in the beginning with G*d".
But, in a sense of the NT, the Word did become FLESH and sent to earth to take away the sins of the world, "create" might be the wrong word, since the Word has always existed. He became like us to die in the flesh and condemn sin forever.
Convince, is also a shaded meaning. G*d does not need convincing to know what sin is. Afterall, he created the Law that showed what sin was!
G*d laid down the rules and death was the penalty of sin. So Christ died in our stead so that sin was now forgiven. Why? because He was our maker, and thus more than our equal. The penalty was SATISFIED!
As you can see, "created" and "convince" obufscates and mitigates what Christ has done for all of mankind.

No God had Jesus Christ begotten (meaning he was created from him like Adam was made into Eve) and not created separating Jesus as special, as the only Son of God. The reason Christ exists might have been to save us from our sins, but I believe He was begotten because of the love that knows no bounds that the Father has. And it was through this immeasurable love that Jesus Christ came to save us from our sins.
God Bless,
Elisha

No. God sent Jesus down to earth in a human form to pay as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. When he was crucified, all our sins, past, present, and future, were forgiven.

Sorry way off base.Jesus has always been there with God the Father and the Holy Spirit.Genesis 1(Let us make man...)
John 1(the word[Jesus] was with God and was God) and Collosians 1(All things were made by God through Jesus..) tell you that also Philippians tells how "Jesus ,although he thought it not robbery to be equal with God ,laid aside His glory to take on human flesh to relate to us"
God created Adam and Eve with free will,so as not to be robots. You can't choose to love someone without freewill. When they chose to rebel,Jesus(who is only Jesus to us)decided to take on human flesh and pay the penalty, even though He'd be stuck now in a (albeit perfect)human body forever.
Ps it's 1x1x1=1 God

mark: You have it wrong ! Jesus IS God !!! He is the one called Emmanuel - means God is with us. There never was a contest between Jesus and God. Jesus Christ was promised as a supreme sacrifice for the sins of all mankind from the time the first man [Adam] and woman [Eve] were created. It was God's good pleasure to offer up His Son for our sins !!!

God or the great power which has created ALL life, created humans. Jesus was a human, just like the rest of us. Jesus, nor any other human, can convince "God" of anything. It's the other way around! "God" tries to guide us!

Actually, it looks as though you got EVERYTHING wrong!
The theology of redemption is peculiar, even counter intuitive, but that's probably the only reason it was successful.
The result of Adam's original sin was to enslave him and all his descendents under the evil dominion of Satan the devil, and without divine assistance, it would always remain so.
Since no naturally born man was qualified to properly remove Satan and his evil dominion from the earth, God sent his divine and sinless son Jesus, made of woman, under the law, to redeem mankind.
Jesus was like us in all things except sin, and no one, not even the devil himself, has the right to take the life of a sinless (innocent) man, let alone the only begotten son of God.
The devil couldn't help himself, and he quickly arranged the brutal execution of Christ on the cross, at Calvary.
The moment Jesus died, Satan was legally judged by God for his offense. Everything Satan had earlier gained from Adam's sin was taken away from him, and he was left desolate.
God raised Jesus from the dead and made Christ (among other things) the new and sinless head of all mankind.
Jesus gave us our freedom, so man was now capable of apologizing for his sins, and truly repenting.
With Jesus as the new head of all mankind, and man free to repent, God was more than willing to forgive.
So, to sum it up ... God sent his son to destroy the power of evil, because the sinless Jesus was the only person in the universe who could get the job done.
God always intended to forgive us for our sins, but without the freedom to repent, forgiveness would have been pointless, as we would have still been enslaved to Satan, sin, and death.
Now, anyone who's been baptized can apologize to God, promise to try to amend their ways, and receive God's forgiveness.
And the only power Satan still enjoys he receives from the fools who still choose to follow him.
